Ravindra Majhi Reunited with Family After Three Years of Separation
Manjeshwar, October 12, 2026: In a heartwarming reunion, Mr. Ravindra Majhi, a 40-year-old native of Gaya district, Bihar, was successfully reunited with his family on October 11, after nearly three years of separation. The reunion was made possible through the joint efforts of Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre, Manjeshwar, and Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation, Mumbai.
On July 7, 2026, local businessman Mr. Kiran Kumar of Karkala found Ravindra wandering in a vulnerable condition at Katipalla, near MRPL in the Surathkal area of Mangaluru. Moved by concern for his well-being, he informed Br. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, and helped facilitate Ravindra’s safe admission to Snehalaya.
Ravindra had reportedly been experiencing mental health difficulties for nearly 20 years. At Snehalaya, he received the necessary care and rehabilitation before being transferred to Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation, Mumbai, on September 3, 2026, for further treatment. Following a medical assessment, he was provisionally diagnosed with schizoaffective illness.
Through the continued efforts of the teams at Snehalaya and Shraddha Foundation, Ravindra’s family was traced and contacted. His family had been deeply concerned about his whereabouts, as he had left home nearly three years earlier in search of employment and had remained out of contact ever since.
On October 11, Ravindra was joyfully reunited with his parents, sister, and other family members. He belongs to Naudharia village, under the jurisdiction of Buniyadganj Police Station in Gaya district, Bihar. His family took responsibility for his continued care. To ensure continuity of treatment, Snehalaya provided him with essential medicines for two months and advised the family to continue his treatment and medical follow-ups at a government hospital in Gaya.
On behalf of the family, sincere gratitude was expressed to Mr. Kiran Kumar of Karkala, Br. Joseph Crasta, Snehalaya Charitable Trust, and Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation, Mumbai, for their compassion, support, and dedicated efforts in making the reunion possible.
This heartwarming reunion highlights how compassion, appropriate treatment, and coordinated efforts can restore hope and reconnect individuals separated from their families. It also serves as a reminder that helping people experiencing mental health difficulties or found in vulnerable circumstances is a shared social responsibility.
