ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವನ್ ಅವರ ದಾಖಲಾತಿ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 23, 2026ರಂದು ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆಯ ಕೊರತೆ, ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದು, ಅಸಂಬದ್ಧ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸುವ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತು.

Snehalaya Rescues Destitute Man Found Near Vailankanni Church in Bantwal
Manjeshwar, September 27, 2026: A simple act of concern has given a vulnerable man a safe place to begin a new chapter in his life. Mr. Jeevan, a native of Ladakh, was found in a destitute and helpless condition near Vailankanni Church at Farla, Bantwal Taluk.
Noticing Jeevan’s difficult situation, Fr. Mark of Farla Church reached out to Br. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya, and informed him about the man. Responding promptly, the Snehalaya team went to the location and brought Jeevan to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre, Manjeshwar, where he was provided with a safe and caring environment.
Jeevan was admitted to Snehalaya on September 23, 2026. At the time of admission, he was observed to have poor personal hygiene, excessive talking, irrelevant conversations and a tendency to collect objects. The Snehalaya team has taken responsibility for providing him with the necessary medical care, personal support, psychosocial assistance and rehabilitation services.
For a person who had been living without care or support, the intervention has provided more than just shelter. It has given Jeevan an opportunity to regain his dignity, receive care and gradually rebuild his life in a safe and supportive environment.
Meanwhile, Snehalaya is making efforts to learn more about Jeevan’s personal and family background and to trace his relatives. If his family members or relatives can be identified, the organisation will make every possible effort to facilitate a safe and dignified family reunion.
The timely intervention by the Snehalaya team once again highlights the importance of compassion and community support in protecting people who are found alone and vulnerable. For individuals like Jeevan, a helping hand at the right moment can become the first step towards care, dignity, recovery and a possible return to their family.
