ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಜೂನ್ 4, 2026: ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೆಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಹೃದಯಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಉತ್ತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಹಾಪುರ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಕವಿತಾ ಮಲಿಕ್ ಅವರು ಸುಮಾರು ಐದು ತಿಂಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಕುಟುಂಬದಿಂದ ದೂರವಾದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಜೂನ್ 3, 2026 ರಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ತಾಯಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡರು.
ಕಳೆದ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕವಿತಾ ಅವರು, ತಮ್ಮ ಅತ್ತೆಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಕರ ಮನೆಗೆ ತೆರಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾರಿ ತಪ್ಪಿ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅಜಮ್‌ಗಢಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ತಪ್ಪಾಗಿ ಬೇರೆ ರೈಲು ಹತ್ತಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಮ್ಯಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ತಲುಪಲಾಗದೆ ಕುಟುಂಬದಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಅಜಮ್‌ಗಢ, ದೆಹಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಥುರಾ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವೆಡೆ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಹುಡುಕಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದರೂ ಅವರ ಸುಳಿವು ಸಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 10, 2026 ರಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಜಂಕ್ಷನ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಟ್ಯಾಕ್ಸಿ ಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುನಿಲ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಗಮನಿಸಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೆಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕವಿತಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಆರೈಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸ್ತವ್ಯವಿದ್ದ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಮುಂಬೈನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ರಿಹ್ಯಾಬಿಲಿಟೇಶನ್ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್‌ನ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಲು ನಿರಂತರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಹಾಪುರ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರನ್ನು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.
ಜೂನ್ 3, 2026 ರಂದು ಕವಿತಾ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಾಯಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡ ಕ್ಷಣವು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳ ಆತಂಕ, ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ನೋವಿನ ನಂತರ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮರಳಿ ಕಂಡ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಸಂತಸದಿಂದ ಕಣ್ಣೀರು ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಈ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲು ಕಾರಣರಾದ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಂಬೈನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ರಿಹ್ಯಾಬಿಲಿಟೇಶನ್ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್‌ಗೆ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.

Five Months After Going Missing, Ms. Kavitha Malik Reunited with Her Mother and Family

Manjeshwar, June 4, 2026: In a heartwarming reunion, Ms. Kavitha Malik, a native of Hapur District, Uttar Pradesh, was successfully reunited with her mother and family on June 3, 2026, after being missing for nearly five months.

Ms. Kavitha, who had been suffering from mental illness for the past year, went missing while travelling from her in-laws’ home to a relative’s house in Azamgarh. After boarding the wrong train, she lost her way and remained separated from her family despite extensive searches conducted across Azamgarh, Delhi, and Mathura.

She was found wandering in a distressed condition at Mangalore Junction Railway Station and was safely rescued by Snehalaya Charitable Trust on March 10, 2026, following information provided by Mr. Sunil Kumar, a taxi driver. Under the leadership of Bro. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, she was admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for treatment, care, and rehabilitation.

During her stay, the Snehalaya team, with the support of Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation, Mumbai, made dedicated efforts to trace her family and successfully established contact with them in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. On June 3, 2026, Ms. Kavitha was reunited with her mother and family. The reunion was emotional and joyful, with family members expressing heartfelt gratitude after months of uncertainty and separation.

The family conveyed their sincere appreciation to Bro. Joseph Crasta, the Snehalaya team, and Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation, Mumbai, for their compassionate care, support, and relentless efforts in making the reunion possible.
