ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಸ್ಪರ್ಶವಾಗಿ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಸಮೀಪ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಆಶ್ರಯ ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಉತ್ತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಗಾಜಿಯಾಬಾದ್ ಮೂಲದ ಶ್ರೀ ಓಂ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಎಂಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಬಳಿ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಪ್ರೊಟೆಕ್ಷನ್ ಫೋರ್ಸ್ (RPF) ನ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪಡೆದ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ತಂಡ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಓಂ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿತು.
ಮೇ 7, 2026 ರಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆಯ ವೇಳೆ ಅವರು ಸ್ವಯಂ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ನಡೆಸುವುದು, ಭ್ರಮೆಗಳು ಕಾಣುವುದು, ಅಸಂಬದ್ಧ ಮಾತು, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆಯ ಕೊರತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮನೋಚಾಲನಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತು. ಅವರ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ತುರ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿತು.
ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಅಗತ್ಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ, ಆರೈಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳು ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ.

Snehalaya Admits Distressed Man Rescued Near Mangaluru Railway Station

Manjeshwar, May 7, 2026: A man identified as Mr. Omprakash, a native of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre after being found in a distressed condition near the Central Railway Station, Mangalore.

According to sources, the situation came to light when Mr. Premkumar of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Central Railway Station, Mangalore, alerted Snehalaya Founder Br. Joseph Crasta regarding the man’s condition. Acting swiftly on the information, the Snehalaya team reached the location and safely shifted him to the rehabilitation centre for immediate care and protection.

Mr. Omprakash was admitted on May 7, 2026. During the initial assessment, he was observed to be suffering from self-talk, hallucinations, irrelevant speech, poor personal hygiene, and decreased psychomotor activity, requiring urgent psychiatric care, supervision, and psychosocial rehabilitation support.

The Snehalaya team has initiated necessary medical treatment, counselling, and rehabilitation measures to support his recovery and overall well-being. Continuous monitoring and compassionate care are being provided at the centre as part of the intervention.
