Family Reunion Brings Hope: Snehalaya Reunites Mr. Daramakara (Raju) with His Family After 30 Years of Separation

Manjeshwara, March 31, 2026: In a deeply emotional and inspiring act of compassion and dedicated service, the team of Snehalaya Charitable Trust successfully reunited Mr. Daramakara (Raju), a native of Barakathijabari, Barkatia Bari, Sonitpur District, Assam, with his family after an extraordinary separation of 30 long years, restoring hope and joy to his loved ones.

Mr. Daramakara had been missing from his family for the past three decades, l eaving them in prolonged uncertainty and distress. During this period, he was identified as a person requiring psychiatric care and support.

He was under the care of Khidma Thanal Snehaveedu, Kannur, where he was provided with proper treatment, care, and continuous support for his condition. As his situation improved and efforts to trace his family progressed, he was referred and admitted to the Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre on January 06, 2026, specifically for the purpose of family tracing and reunion. He was brought by social worker Mr. Drupad with proper coordination.

Under the compassionate leadership of Br. Joseph Crasta, the Snehalaya team initiated systematic efforts to identify his native place and reconnect him with his family. Through detailed assessments, communication, and persistent follow-ups, vital information regarding his background was successfully gathered.

In a remarkable joint effort, the Indian Army and the Borgang Police, Assam, played a crucial role in tracing his family. A dedicated search operation lasting nearly five hours was carried out, during which authorities carefully verified details and located his correct residential address.

After confirming his identity, Mr. Daramakara (Raju) was safely reunited with his sister on March 15, 2026, marking a deeply emotional moment after 30 years of separation. The reunion brought immense relief, happiness, and gratitude to the family, who had long awaited this moment.

This extraordinary reunion highlights the power of compassionate care, inter-agency coordination, and unwavering commitment. The combined efforts of Khidma Thanal Snehaveedu, Snehalaya, Br. Joseph Crasta, the Indian Army, and the Borgang Police have successfully restored a lost connection and brought a family back together.
