ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 29, 2026: ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಪತ್ತೆ ಕಾರ್ಯದ ಬಳಿಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಟಿ. ಥಾಮಸ್ ಅವರು ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 17, 2026ರಂದು ಕೇರಳದ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಯಂನಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಾಜಿ ಟಿ. ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡರು. ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವು A.P.P.I. ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರಿತು.

ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಟಿ. ಥಾಮಸ್ ಅವರು ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಮಸ್ಕತ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಪಾಸ್‌ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಅವಧಿ ಮುಗಿದಿದ್ದು, ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಗಂಭೀರ ಕಣ್ಣಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಸ್ಕತ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಬಳಿಕ ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವಿಶೇಷ ಆದೇಶದಡಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳಿ ಕರೆತರಲಾಯಿತು.

ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ, ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕುಂದಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಅವರು ದಾರಿ ತಪ್ಪಿ ಗೊಂದಲಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾದರು. ನಂತರ ಅವರು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕಂಡುಬಂತು.

ಅವರ ದುರ್ಬಲ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಪಡೆ (RPF) ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ, ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ನ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.

RPFನಿಂದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪಡೆದ ನಂತರ ಜನವರಿ 1, 2026ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಲುಪಿ ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು. ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನೋ–ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ನಿರಂತರ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ವಾಸದ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಲು ನಿರಂತರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಗತ್ಯ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸಾಧಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೀತಿಪಾತ್ರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಸೇರಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಡವು ಸತತವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿತು.

ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬ ಪತ್ತೆ ಕಾರ್ಯದ ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಯಂನಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 17, 2026ರಂದು, ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಟಿ. ಥಾಮಸ್ ಅವರು ವೆಳಿಚಿಯಾಣಿ, ಪಾರತ್ತೋಡು, ಎಡಕ್ಕುನ್ನಂ, ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಯಂ, ಕೇರಳದ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಾಜಿ ಟಿ. ಕ್ಸೇವಿಯರ್ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡರು.

ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿಯ ಬಳಿಕ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಮಡಿಲಿಗೆ ಮರಳಿದ ಈ ಘಟನೆ, ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ನೆರವು, ಮಾನವೀಯ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬ ಪತ್ತೆ ಕಾರ್ಯದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯವು ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಒದಗಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಸೇರಿಸುವ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

Xavier T. Thomas Reunited with Brother in Kottayam After Months of Care and Rehabilitation

Manjeshwar, September 29, 2026: After several months of care, rehabilitation, and efforts to trace his family, Mr. Xavier T. Thomas was successfully reunited with his brother, Mr. Saji T. Xavier, in Kottayam, Kerala, on September 17, 2026. The reunion was facilitated under A.P.P.I. through coordinated efforts to reconnect him with his family.

Mr. Xavier T. Thomas had been working in Muscat for several years. After his passport expired and he developed a serious eye-related problem, he was unable to continue his stay there. Following this, the authorities in Muscat arranged for his return to India. He was subsequently brought back to India under a special order of the Government of India.

After arriving at Mangalore International Airport, Xavier, who was experiencing severe vision difficulties, became disoriented and lost his way. He was later found wandering in a vulnerable and helpless condition at Mangalore Central Railway Station.

Noticing his condition, personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Mangalore, intervened and informed Brother Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, about his situation.

Following the information received from the RPF, the Snehalaya team reached Mangalore Central Railway Station on January 1, 2026, and safely rescued Xavier. He was subsequently admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre in Manjeshwar, where he received necessary medical care, continuous support, rehabilitation, and a safe and supportive environment.

During his stay at Snehalaya, continuous efforts were made to understand his background and trace his family. Along with providing care and rehabilitation, the Snehalaya team worked persistently to establish contact with his relatives and facilitate his safe return to his loved ones.

After months of care, rehabilitation, and family-tracing efforts, his family was successfully located in Kottayam. Finally, on September 17, 2026, Xavier T. Thomas was reunited with his brother, Mr. Saji T. Xavier, of Thevarkatil House, Velichiyani, Parathodu, Edakkunnam, Kottayam, Kerala.

The reunion marked the completion of a journey that began with Xavier being found helpless at a railway station and ended with him returning safely to his family. His case highlights the importance of timely intervention, compassionate care, rehabilitation, and sustained efforts to trace and reconnect vulnerable individuals with their families.

The successful reunion was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the concerned teams under A.P.P.I., bringing relief and happiness to Xavier and his family.

Under the guidance of Brother Joseph Crasta, Snehalaya continues its humanitarian efforts to rescue vulnerable and destitute individuals, provide them with care and rehabilitation, and support their safe reunification with their families.
