ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಅಗತ್ಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಔಷಧೋಪಚಾರ, ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಒದಗಿಸಿತು. ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀಡಲಾದ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತು. ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚುವ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಂದರೇಶ್ ಅವರ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ, ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸಾಧಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಅವರು ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ನಾಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ನಾಪತ್ತೆ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸುಂದರೇಶ್ ಅವರು ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡರಿಂದ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಮೊದಲು ಅವರು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಟ್ರ್ಯಾಕ್ಟರ್ ಚಾಲಕರಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಆದಾಯ ಗಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನೋಪಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆಯಾಗುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕುಟುಂಬಸ್ಥರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೊಂದಿಗಿನ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಂತರ ಉಂಟಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಕುರಿತು ಅರಿವಿನ ಕೊರತೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸುಂದರೇಶ್ ಅವರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 6, 2026ರಂದು ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಗತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡ ನಂತರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 16ರಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 17ರಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ದು ತಾಯಿಯ ಸಾನ್ನಿಧ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳಿದರು. ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ಬಳಿಕ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಕಂಡ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ಈ ಕ್ಷಣ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಾವುಕವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸುಂದರೇಶ್ ಇದೀಗ ತಮ್ಮ ತಾಯಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅವರ ಮುಂದಿನ ಆರೈಕೆಯ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ದಿವಂಗತ ರಾಜಾ ನಾಯಕ್ ಅವರು ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ನಿಧನರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅವರ ಸಹೋದರಿ ವಿವಾಹವಾಗಿ ಮಧುರೈನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

After a Year Away, Sundresh Reunites with His Mother Through Snehalaya’s Care and Rehabilitation

Manjeshwar, September 24, 2026: After being away from his family for nearly a year, Mr. Sundresh, a native of Ramachandra village in Hosur Taluk, Krishnagiri District, Tamil Nadu, was successfully reunited with his mother on September 17, 2026, following care, treatment and rehabilitation at Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre, Manjeshwar.

Sundresh was found in a vulnerable condition at the Manjeshwar auto stand on May 6, 2026. Auto driver Mr. Badruddin noticed his condition and informed Snehalaya Founder Br. Joseph Crasta. Acting promptly on the information, the Snehalaya team reached the location, rescued Sundresh safely and brought him to the centre, where he received medical care, medication, counselling and psychosocial rehabilitation.

With continued care and treatment, Sundresh showed gradual improvement in his health and overall condition. During the process of tracing his family, the Snehalaya team collected his personal details and succeeded in establishing contact with his family. According to his family, Sundresh had been missing for nearly a year, and no missing-person complaint had been registered during that period.

The family also reported that Sundresh had been experiencing mental health difficulties for the past two to three years. Before his difficulties began, he had been leading a regular life and working as a tractor driver. His mental health challenges affected his employment, livelihood and relationships with family and friends. The family stated that financial difficulties and limited awareness about mental health had also made it difficult for him to access appropriate treatment.

As part of his rehabilitation and family-reunification process, Shraddha Foundation conducted an assessment on September 6, 2026. Following the completion of the necessary procedures, Sundresh was discharged from Snehalaya on September 16 and safely taken to his family the following day.

The reunion with his mother after nearly a year was an emotional moment for the family. Sundresh is now staying with his mother, with his family taking responsibility for his continued care and treatment. His father, the late Raja Naik, passed away several years ago, while his sister is married and resides in Madurai.

Before his return, Snehalaya provided Sundresh with one month’s medication and counselled his family on mental health care, regular medication and the importance of continuing treatment. The family was advised to continue his follow-up treatment at a hospital near Hosur.

The successful reunion highlights the importance of compassionate care, rehabilitation, family tracing and continued support in helping vulnerable individuals return to their families and communities.
