Tamil Nadu Native Bala Kumar Found in Distressed Condition in Padubidri, Receives Rehabilitation Care at Snehalaya

Manjeshwar, September 22, 2026: Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre, dedicated to the rescue, care, and rehabilitation of homeless, vulnerable, and socially distressed individuals, has provided safe shelter and rehabilitation support to Mr. Bala Kumar, a native of Thevaram, Tamil Nadu, who was found wandering in a vulnerable condition in Padubidri.

Mr. Bala Kumar was noticed by Mr. Kiran Kumar, a well-known businessman from Karkala, who observed his distressed condition and informed Br. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya Charitable Trust. Following the information, the Snehalaya rescue team promptly travelled to Padubidri and safely brought Mr. Bala Kumar to the rehabilitation centre on September 21, 2026.

At the time of admission, Mr. Bala Kumar was observed to have poor personal hygiene, wandering behaviour, and a tendency to talk and laugh to himself. A visible injury was also noticed on his right hand. Following his admission, Snehalaya initiated the necessary care and rehabilitation process.

He is currently being provided with a safe and supportive environment, personal care, medical attention, and psychosocial rehabilitation assistance. Efforts are also being made to trace and establish contact with his family and to facilitate appropriate steps towards his long-term rehabilitation.

The timely intervention of Mr. Kiran Kumar and the prompt response of the Snehalaya rescue team helped ensure that Mr. Bala Kumar, who was found in a vulnerable condition, received immediate protection, care, and support.
