ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಜುಲೈ 28, 2026: ಒಡಿಶಾ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕಟಕ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮ ಚಂದ್ರ ಸಾಹು ಅವರು ಸುಮಾರು ಏಳು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ, ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಕೇರಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಂಬೈನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಅವರ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ತಂದೆ, ಸಹೋದರ ಹಾಗೂ ಅತ್ತಿಗೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಮರುಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಹೆಸರು ರಾಮಚಾಡು ಶಾವ್ ಎಂದು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ನಂತರ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರ ನಿಜವಾದ ಹೆಸರು ರಾಮ ಚಂದ್ರ ಸಾಹು ಎಂದು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಕಳೆದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಒಡಿಶಾದ ಕಟಕ್‌ನ ಎಸ್‌ಸಿಬಿ ಮೆಡಿಕಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮತ್ತು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ವೈದ್ಯರು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ ಔಷಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಸೇವಿಸದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಹಿನ್ನಡೆ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು. ಒಂದು ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಅಂಗಡಿಯನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ದುರ್ಘಟನೆಗಳು ಅವರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರಿದವು. ಮೊದಲು ಅವರ ಕಿರಿಯ ಸಹೋದರ ರಸ್ತೆ ಅಪಘಾತದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟರು. ಆ ದುಃಖದಿಂದ ಅವರ ತಾಯಿ ತೀವ್ರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ, ಕೆಲವೇ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಧನರಾದರು. ಈ ಸತತ ಆಘಾತಗಳು ರಾಮ ಚಂದ್ರ ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ದುರ್ಬಲಗೊಳಿಸಿದವು.

ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದರೂ, ಔಷಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಸೇವಿಸದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಮರುಕಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಅಂತಹ ಒಂದು ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡದೆ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಏಳು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

2026ರ ಮೇ 15ರಂದು, ಒಡಿಶಾ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕಟಕ್ ಮೂಲದ ರಾಮಚಾಡು ಶಾವ್ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀತಂಗೋಳಿ ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಹಿಡಿಯಲಾಯಿತು. ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಅವರು ಅವರ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಮಾಹಿತಿ ದೊರಕಿದ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ತಂಡ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತುರ್ತು ಆರೈಕೆ, ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಆಶ್ರಯ, ರಕ್ಷಣೆ, ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ನೆರವು ಹಾಗೂ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಬಳಿಕ ಜುಲೈ 7, 2026ರಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಮುಂಬೈನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್‌ಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಮನೋವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಭಾವನೆಗಳ ಏರಿಳಿತ ಎಂದು ರೋಗನಿರ್ಣಯ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.

ನಿಯಮಿತ ಔಷಧೋಪಚಾರ, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮನೋ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂತು. ನಂತರ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚುವ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಒಡಿಶಾದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಜುಲೈ 22, 2026ರಂದು, ಕಟಕ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಬಕ್ಸಿ ಬಜಾರ್‌ನ ತೆಲಿ ಸಾಹಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅವರ ನಿವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮ ಚಂದ್ರ ಸಾಹು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ತಂದೆ, ಸಹೋದರ ಹಾಗೂ ಅತ್ತಿಗೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಮರುಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ತಮ್ಮ ಮಗ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಕಂಡ ಸಂತಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್‌ಗೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಮರುಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೆ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಮುದಾಯದಿಂದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಹರ್ಷದ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಯಿತು.

Seven-Month Separation Ends: Rama Chandra Sahoo Reunited with His Family in Odisha

Manjeshwar, July 28, 2026: Mr. Rama Chandra Sahoo, a resident of Cuttack district in Odisha, was reunited with his father, brother, and sister-in-law after being missing from his home for nearly seven months. The reunion was made possible through the joint efforts of Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre, Manjeshwar, Kerala, and Shraddha Foundation, Mumbai.

At the time of his rescue, he had been identified as Ramchadu Shaow. However, after tracing his relatives, his true identity was confirmed by his family as Rama Chandra Sahoo.

According to his family, Mr. Sahoo had been suffering from mental illness for the past four years. He had received psychiatric treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, for nearly three years. However, his condition gradually deteriorated after he stopped taking his prescribed medications regularly.

Before his illness, he had been successfully managing his own shop. His mental health was severely affected following a series of tragic events in his family. His younger brother died in a road accident, and the grief deeply impacted his mother, who subsequently developed serious mental health problems and passed away a few days later. These consecutive losses significantly worsened Rama Chandra’s mental health.

Despite the family’s sincere efforts to continue his treatment, his symptoms frequently relapsed due to irregular medication. During one such episode, he left home without informing anyone and remained missing for nearly seven months.

On May 15, 2026, Rama Chandra, who was then identified as Ramchadu Shaow from Cuttack, Odisha, was found in a mentally distressed condition at Seethangoli Bus Stand in Kasaragod district, Kerala. Auto driver Mr. Jayaprakash noticed his vulnerable condition and immediately informed Bro. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya.

Upon receiving the information, the Snehalaya team promptly reached the location, safely rescued him, and admitted him to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre. He was provided with immediate protection, emergency care, safe shelter, medical treatment, counselling, and psycho-social rehabilitation services.

Later, on July 7, 2026, he was transferred to Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation, Mumbai, for further psychiatric evaluation and rehabilitation. Following a comprehensive psychiatric assessment, he was diagnosed with a Mood Disorder.

With regular psychiatric treatment, prescribed medication, personal care, counselling, and structured psycho-social rehabilitation, his condition improved significantly. The rehabilitation team then initiated efforts to trace his family and successfully established contact with his relatives in Odisha.

On July 22, 2026, Rama Chandra Sahoo was emotionally reunited with his father, brother, and sister-in-law at his residence in Teli Sahi, Buxi Bazar, Cuttack district, Odisha.

His family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Snehalaya and Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation for safely rescuing, treating, and reuniting him with them. The reunion was warmly welcomed by family members, neighbours, and the local community.

Considering the family’s financially vulnerable background, they were provided with counselling on the importance of continuing psychiatric treatment, regular medication, follow-up care, and family support. His father, brother, and sister-in-law have taken full responsibility for his ongoing care. Necessary medicines have been provided by the rehabilitation centre, and arrangements have also been made for his continued treatment at a hospital near Cuttack.

Snehalaya expressed its sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the rescue, treatment, rehabilitation, family tracing, and successful reunion of Mr. Rama Chandra Sahoo.
