ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಜುಲೈ 18, 2026: ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮಗನಿಗಾಗಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾದಿದ್ದ ತಾಯಿಯ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಕೊನೆಗೂ ಫಲಿಸಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಮಗ ಮನೆಗೆ ಮರಳುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕೇವಲ ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿನಗಳ ಮೊದಲು ತಂದೆ ನಿಧನರಾಗಿರುವುದು ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಆಳವಾದ ದುಃಖವನ್ನೂ ಮೂಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರದರ್. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್, ಮುಂಬೈಯ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕುಟುಂಬದಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಿದ್ದ 24 ವರ್ಷದ ಸಿಬಾಜಿ ಹಸ್ದಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಜುಲೈ 13, 2026ರಂದು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದಿನಾಜ್‌ಪುರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಶಿಬಾಜಿ’ ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಅವರ ನಿಜವಾದ ಹೆಸರು ಸಿಬಾಜಿ ಹಸ್ದಾ ಎಂಬುದು ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಪತ್ತೆಯ ಬಳಿಕ ದೃಢಪಟ್ಟಿತು. ಅವರು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದಿನಾಜ್‌ಪುರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕುಮಾರ್‌ಗಂಜ್ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಅಶೋಕ್‌ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಗೋಕುಲ್ಪುರ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬಡ ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಸಿಬಾಜಿ ಅವರು ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೇ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೂ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಜೀವನೋಪಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ನೆರವಾಗಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆದಾರರೊಬ್ಬರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೂಲಿ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೇರಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಕೆಲಸದ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಾ ದಾರಿ ತಪ್ಪಿ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಸಿಬಾಜಿ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ವಿಷಯ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕೆಲವು ದಿನಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆದಾರ ಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ, ಸಿಬಾಜಿ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಆತಂಕಗೊಂಡ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆದಾರರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ, ಸಿಬಾಜಿಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಲು ಹಲವು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹುಡುಕಾಟದ ಬಳಿಕವೂ ಅವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸುಳಿವು ದೊರಕಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಿಬಾಜಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಜೂನ್ 26, 2026ರಂದು ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬದ್ರುದ್ದೀನ್ ಅವರ ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಶಿಬಾಜಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆತಂದಿತು. ಮತ್ತು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಆರೈಕೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದಾಗ, ವರ್ತನಾ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಸಂಭವನೀಯ ಅಪಸ್ಮಾರ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕಂಡುಬಂತು. ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದ್ದರೂ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ದೊರೆತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಮಾದಕವಸ್ತು ಸೇವನೆಯ ಯಾವುದೇ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ.

ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಬಳಿಕ ಸಿಬಾಜಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಔಷಧೋಪಚಾರ, ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ, ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ನಿರಂತರ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯಿಂದ ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ವರ್ತನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂತು. ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳು ಫಲ ನೀಡಿದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಜುಲೈ 7, 2026ರಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಮುಂದಿನ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಾಗಿ ಮುಂಬೈನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕಾನೂನು ಹಾಗೂ ಆಡಳಿತಾತ್ಮಕ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ಜುಲೈ 10ರಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೇಂದ್ರದಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಬಳಿಕ ಜುಲೈ 13ರಂದು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯಲಾಯಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಸಿಬಾಜಿ ಮನೆಗೆ ತಲುಪುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕೇವಲ ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿನಗಳ ಮೊದಲು ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ನಿಧನರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮಗನ ಆಗಮನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಕೊನೆಯ ಬಾರಿ ಮಗನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರಕದಿರುವುದು ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀವ್ರ ದುಃಖವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿತು.

ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ನೋವಿನ ನಡುವೆಯೇ ಸಿಬಾಜಿ ಮನೆಗೆ ಮರಳಿದಾಗ, ಅವರ ತಾಯಿ, ಸಹೋದರ, ಸಹೋದರಿ, ಸಂಬಂಧಿಕರು, ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರು ಹಾಗೂ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಜನರು ಭಾವುಕರಾಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರು ಕಂಡ ತಾಯಿಯ ಸಂತೋಷಕ್ಕೆ ಮಿತಿಯೇ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿದ ಸಿಬಾಜಿಯವರೂ ಅಪಾರ ಸಂತೋಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ತಾಯಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡ ಕ್ಷಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹೋದರ-ಸಹೋದರಿಯರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮೀಯವಾಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಕಣ್ಣಲ್ಲೂ ಸಂತೋಷದ ಕಣ್ಣೀರನ್ನು ತರಿಸಿತು. ನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನೋವು, ಹುಡುಕಾಟ, ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅನಿಶ್ಚಿತತೆಗೆ ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವು ಆಶಾದಾಯಕ ಅಂತ್ಯ ನೀಡಿತು.

“ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಕೈಬಿಡದ ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಉತ್ತರ ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ; ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯ ಕೈಗಳು ಒಂದಾದಾಗ ಕಳೆದುಹೋದ ಬದುಕು ಮತ್ತೆ ತನ್ನವರ ಮಡಿಲು ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ.”

After a Four-Year Search, Sibaji Hasda Returned Home Four Days After His Father’s Death

Manjeshwar, July 18, 2026: A mother’s four-year wait for her missing son finally came to an end when 24-year-old Sibaji Hasda was reunited with his family in West Bengal. However, the reunion was marked by profound sorrow, as Sibaji’s father had passed away just four days before his son returned home. Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre once again became part of a deeply emotional family reunion. Under the guidance of its Founder, Bro. Joseph Crasta, and with the support of Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation, Mumbai, Sibaji Hasda, who had been separated from his family for four years, was safely reunited with them on July 13, 2026, at his native village in the South Dinajpur district of West Bengal.

Initially identified as “Shibaji,” his real name was confirmed as Sibaji Hasda after his family was traced. He is a resident of Gokulpur village in Ashokgram, under the jurisdiction of Kumar Ganj Police Station in South Dinajpur district.

Born into an economically disadvantaged family, Sibaji had reportedly experienced mental health difficulties from childhood. Despite these challenges, he travelled to Kerala with a contractor from his village to work as a daily-wage labourer and support his family. However, due to his mental health condition, he wandered away from the workplace, lost his way and went missing. Initially, Sibaji’s family was unaware that he had disappeared. A few days later, the contractor who had taken him to Kerala returned to the village and informed the family about his disappearance. Distressed by the news, the family lodged a police complaint against the contractor and made several efforts to locate Sibaji. Despite years of searching, they were unable to find any information about him.

After wandering for nearly four years, Sibaji was rescued On June 26, 2026, based on timely information provided by Mr. Badruddin, an auto-rickshaw driver from Manjeshwar, the Snehalaya team reached the location and safely rescued Mr. Shibaji, bringing him to the rehabilitation centre for care and protection. Following a comprehensive assessment, he was found to be suffering from probable epilepsy associated with behavioural disturbances. Although he had a previous history of mental illness, he had not received appropriate psychiatric treatment. There was no history of substance abuse.

After efforts to trace his family proved successful, Sibaji was admitted to Shraddha Rehabilitation Centre on July 7, 2026, for the final stages of the reunion process. Upon completion of the necessary legal and administrative procedures, he was discharged from the centre on July 10 and safely escorted to his native village in West Bengal on July 13.

Tragically, Sibaji’s father had passed away only four days before his arrival. The father, who had waited for years hoping to see his missing son again, was denied the opportunity to meet him one final time. This painful reality brought immense grief to the family during what would otherwise have been a moment of complete joy.

Despite the sorrow of losing his father, Sibaji received an emotional welcome from his mother, brother, sister, relatives, neighbours and other villagers. His mother was overwhelmed with joy upon seeing her son after four long years. Sibaji also expressed immense happiness when he recognised his family members.

The moment his mother embraced him, followed by the warm welcome from his brother and sister, brought tears of joy to everyone present. The reunion brought a hopeful conclusion to four years of pain, uncertainty, searching and waiting.

“A heart that refuses to give up hope will one day receive an answer. When hands of humanity come together, a lost life can once again return to the embrace of its loved ones.”

Sibaji’s mother and brother have taken responsibility for his continued care. Arrangements have been made to send the medicines required for his treatment, and the family has been advised to contact Kumar Ganj Government Hospital in South Dinajpur for further medical care and follow-up treatment. The family, which is facing financial hardship, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Bro. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya, the staff of Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre and the team of Shraddha Foundation, Mumbai, for rescuing Sibaji, providing him with treatment and safely reuniting him with his loved ones.

This compassionate mission has once again demonstrated that timely treatment, persistent efforts and loving care can restore hope and help a lost individual find the way back to family and dignity.
