ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮನೋ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಂಬೈನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ನ ಸಹಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಲಥಾ ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಮತ್ತು ನಂತರ ಮಮತಾ ಎಂದು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ 38 ವರ್ಷದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ಜೂನ್ 15, 2026ರಂದು ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರ ಸಹೋದರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ.
ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರದೇಶದ ರೇವಾ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ರಾಯಪುರ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ನ ಬರೆಹಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದವರಾದ ಲಥಾ ಅವಿವಾಹಿತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೇ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅರಿವಿನ ಕೊರತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿಯಮಿತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ಅಭಾವದಿಂದ ಅವರು ಆಗಾಗ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ದಿನನಿತ್ಯದ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ರೇವಾ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಅವರು ಔಷಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
ಕೆಲಸದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ತಾಯಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಛತ್ತೀಸಗಢದ ಬಿಲಾಸ್ಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿದ್ದ ಲಥಾ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾಣೆಯಾದ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
2025ರ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 26ರಂದು ಲಥಾ ಅವರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಕರ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು. ನಂತರ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮನೋ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ, ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ, ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಮುಂಬೈನ ನಿರಂತರ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬ ಪತ್ತೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳ ಫಲವಾಗಿ, ಅವರ ಗುರುತು ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವಗ್ರಾಮವನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಸಹೋದರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ಬಳಿಕ ಲಥಾ ಮನೆಗೆ ಮರಳಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅವರ ಸಹೋದರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಲಥಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಿ, ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಳಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಬ್ರ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಮುಂಬೈಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದೆ.

After One Year, Snehalaya Reunites Latha with Her Sister in Madhya Pradesh
Manjeshwar, June 23, 2026: Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre, under the guidance of Founder Br. Joseph Crasta and with the support of Shraddha Foundation Mumbai, successfully reunited Ms. Latha, later identified as Mamta, with her sister on June 15, 2026, after one year.
Latha, a 38-year-old unmarried woman from Barehi village, Raipur Post, Rewa District, Madhya Pradesh, had been living with mental health concerns since childhood. Due to lack of awareness and regular treatment, she often wandered around the village and faced many difficulties in daily life. Though treatment had been started at Rewa Hospital, she was unable to continue her medicines regularly.
She had gone with her mother to Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, for work and went missing from there. No missing complaint had been registered by the family.
On December 26, 2025, Latha was found in a vulnerable condition at Central Railway Station and was safely rescued by the Snehalaya team. She was admitted to Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre, where she received medical care, counselling, emotional support and rehabilitation services.
After continuous care and tracing efforts by Snehalaya and Shraddha Foundation Mumbai, her identity and native place were confirmed, and she was safely reunited with her sister in Madhya Pradesh. Her sister and villagers expressed happiness and gratitude on seeing Latha return home after one year.
Snehalaya expressed heartfelt gratitude to Br. Joseph Crasta, the Snehalaya team and Shraddha Foundation Mumbai for their compassionate efforts in rescuing, treating and reuniting Latha with her family.
