Family Reunion Brings Hope: Snehalaya Reunites Mr. Mangesh with His Family After 9 Years of Separation

Manjeshwar, May 2, 2026: In a deeply emotional and heart-touching moment, the team of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, under the compassionate leadership of Br. Joseph Crasta, successfully reunited Mr. Mangesh, a native of Wadhona village, Nagbhir (Post), Chandrapur District, Maharashtra, with his beloved mother, father, brother, and sister—bringing immense joy, relief, and renewed hope to the entire family.

Mr. Mangesh had been missing for the past 9 years, during which his family made relentless efforts to trace him. A missing complaint had been officially lodged, and despite continuous searching and inquiries, they were unable to locate him.

He was rescued by Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Kasaragod, on September 9, 2024, from Mangalore Central Railway Station, based on information provided by the Railway Police . At the time, Mangesh was found wandering in shabby clothing, in a vulnerable condition. He is deaf and mute but understands Hindi, which helped the team in basic communication during the initial stages of care.

Following the rescue, he was admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for Men, where he received care, protection, and rehabilitation. With dedicated efforts, consistent support, and patient follow-up, the Snehalaya team worked towards his well-being and initiated the process of tracing his family.

Their perseverance and commitment finally bore fruit when his family was successfully located and informed about his whereabouts.

The reunion was successfully carried out on May 1, 2026, under the coordination and support of Shraddha Foundation, Mumbai. The moment was filled with overwhelming emotions. Upon seeing his family after nearly a decade, Mr. Mangesh became deeply emotional, unable to hold back tears. His family, too, was moved beyond words, expressing heartfelt gratitude and joy.

In a touching gesture of love and urgency, despite having a marriage function at home, his family chose to prioritize this long-awaited reunion and immediately came to receive him—highlighting the deep bond and affection they held for him.

This successful reunion stands as a powerful testament to the collaborative humanitarian efforts of Snehalaya Charitable Trust and Shraddha Foundation, Mumbai, working together to restore dignity, rebuild lives, and reconnect individuals with their families.
