Manjeshwara, April 07, 2026: In a deeply emotional and heartwarming act of compassionate service, the team of Snehalaya Charitable Trust successfully reunited Mr. Ashok Ram (Dharminder), a native of Karuna Malahi, Sitamarhi District, Bihar, with his parents after a prolonged separation of One year and two months, bringing immense relief and joy to his family.
Mr. Ashok Ram had gone missing due to his mental health condition, leaving his family in a state of uncertainty and distress for over a year. He was later identified as a person requiring specialized psychiatric care, exhibiting symptoms related to intellectual disability and Psychosis NOS (Not Otherwise Specified).
He was initially under care at the Mental Health Hospital, Kuthiravattam, Kozhikode, where he received treatment and support. On January 09, 2026, he was referred and admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for continued care, rehabilitation, and family tracing. He was brought to Snehalaya by Nursing Assistant Mr. Girish, following proper coordination with the hospital authorities.
Under the compassionate guidance and leadership of Br. Joseph Crasta, the Snehalaya team undertook systematic efforts to trace his family. Through continuous follow-ups, careful assessment, and dedicated coordination, crucial details regarding his native place and family background were successfully identified.
After confirming all necessary details, Snehalaya successfully facilitated the reunion on March 25, 2026, when Mr. Ashok Ram was warmly received by his parents. The reunion was filled with deep emotion, gratitude, and relief, marking the end of a long and painful separation.
