Manjeshwar, September 9, 2025: A man identified as Prakash Godvani from Indore was rescued by the Snehalaya team near Nehru Maidan in Mangalore.
Prakash had been exhibiting wandering behavior and was found in a distressed state, struggling with poor personal hygiene, tobacco addiction, aggressive tendencies, and repetitive speech. His condition made him vulnerable on the streets and difficult for the public to manage.
Following his rescue, the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre team carried out a comprehensive assessment to better understand his situation. Based on their findings, targeted interventions were introduced to address his wandering, addiction, hygiene issues, aggression, and repetitive speech.
Currently, Prakash is under the safe care of Snehalaya, where he is receiving medical and psychological support. The team is also working on long-term strategies for his rehabilitation and overall well-being.
Snehalaya has appealed to the public to assist by providing any information that could help trace Prakash’s family members so that a possible reunion can be facilitated.

ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ರವರನ್ನು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಖಿನ್ನತೆ, ಆತಂಕ ಮತ್ತು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದುಃಖದಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಲಾಯಿತು. ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆಯ ಕೊರತೆ, ತಂಬಾಕು ವ್ಯಸನ, ಹಿಂಸಾತ್ಮಕ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮಾತನಾಡುವಂತಹ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ತೊಂದರೆ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು.
ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಅವರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ನಂತರ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಮನೋ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಘಟಕವು ಅವರ ಸಮಗ್ರ ತಪಾಸಣೆ ಮಾಡಿತು ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ವರದಿಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊರ ಬರಲು ವಿಶೇಷ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
