Manjeshwar, October 2, 2025: Snehalaya Celebrates Gandhi Jayanti, International Day of Older Persons & 1st Anniversary of De-addiction Centre:
The campus of Snehalaya Charitable Trust wore a vibrant and heartfelt atmosphere on October 2, 2025, as residents and staff came together to celebrate three significant occasions – Gandhi Jayanti, International Day of Older Persons, and the 1st Anniversary of the De-addiction Centre.
The programme commenced with a warm introduction and welcome by Ms. Fareeda counsellor, followed by the escort of guests to the stage by Mr. Jeswin, Manager – De-addiction Centre. The dignitaries, staff, and residents then lit the traditional lamp, symbolizing light, hope, and new beginnings. A floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi followed, marking the spirit of his timeless principles of truth and non-violence.
The welcome address by Mr. Rakesh, PRO, was marked with warmth and gratitude as he extended heartfelt greetings to the distinguished guests Bro. Joseph Crasta, Founder and Managing Trustee; Mrs. Olivia Crasta, Trustee; and Mr. Clint Joseph, Head of the Clinical Department.
In their inspiring messages, Bro.Joseph Crasta and Mrs. Olivia Crasta emphasized the values of compassion, dignity, and service to the elderly, along with the importance of recovery and hope in the journey of de-addiction. Their words deeply resonated with the audience and reinforced Snehalaya’s mission of care and rehabilitation.
The formal function concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Jeswin, , Manager – De-addiction Centre who expressed gratitude to all who contributed to making the event a success. The day then unfolded with cultural performances and games organized by the the team of De-addiction Centre, filling the auditorium with laughter, energy, and togetherness.
