Manjeshwar, Aug 17, 2025: In a moving act of compassion, three humanitarian organizations – Snehalaya (Manjeshwar), Thanal (Kannur), and Shraddha Foundation (Mumbai)—successfully reunited 55-year-old Kotha Patti Mallayya with his loved ones after nearly 15 years of separation.

Mallayya, a native of Chincholi (B) village in Sarangapur, Adilabad district of Telangana, had been battling mental illness for the past two decades. Deprived of proper medical care, he left home around 15 years ago and began wandering. Despite his family’s search efforts, he could not be traced, and no missing-person complaint was filed with the police at the time.

Rescued while wandering the streets of Kerala, Mallayya was taken in by Thanal NGO and admitted on March 12 to Snehalaya’s psych-Social rehabilitation centre in Manjeshwar. There, he received shelter, medical assistance, counselling, and rehabilitation. With the combined efforts of Snehalaya and Shraddha Foundation, his whereabouts were traced, and on August 3, 2025, the long-awaited reunion with his family was arranged. The emotional moment brought tears of joy to his relatives, who expressed deep gratitude to the NGOs involved.

According to doctors, apart from a smoking habit, Mallayya does not suffer from any major health complications. However, he requires continuous psychiatric treatment. His family has been advised to continue his care and medication at the Government Psychiatric Hospital in Erragadda, Telangana.

This reunion stands as a living example of how NGOs like Snehalaya, Thanal, and Shraddha Foundation extend a lifeline to the homeless and mentally ill—restoring dignity, offering care, and reuniting broken families.

ಹದಿನೈದು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಸಂಘರ್ಷದ ನಂತರ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸಾನಿಧ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳಿದ ಮಲ್ಲಯ್ಯ

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 17, 2025: ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯ ಒಡನಾಡಿಗಳಾದ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ, ಕಣ್ಣೂರು ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಥನಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂಬೈ ನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಎನ್‌ಜಿಒ ಗಳು ಹೃದಯಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸುಮಾರು 15 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಿದ್ದ 55 ವರ್ಷದ ಕೋಠ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಮಲ್ಲಯ್ಯ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಪಾತ್ರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಳಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ತೆಲಂಗಾಣದ ಆದಿಲಾಬಾದ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸರಂಗಾಪುರ ತಾಲೂಕು, ಚಿಂಚೋಳಿ (ಬಿ) ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಮೂಲದ ಮಲ್ಲಯ್ಯ, ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯಿಂದ ವಂಚಿತರಾಗಿ, 15 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಮನೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅಲೆದಾಡಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಹುಡುಕಿದರೂ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗದೇ, ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಕೇರಳದ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಥನಲ್ ಎನ್‌ಜಿಒ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 12 ರಂದು ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯ, ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ನೆರವು, ಕೌನ್ಸೆಲಿಂಗ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಒದಗಿಸಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಅವರ ವಿಳಾಸವನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಿ ಮುಂಬೈ ನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸಹಯೊಗದಿಂದ 2025ರ ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 3ರಂದು ಕೋಠ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಮಲ್ಲಯ್ಯ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನದ ಆ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಹೃದಯಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿ ಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾದಂತಹ ಎನ್‌ಜಿಒ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ವೈದ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಮಲ್ಲಯ್ಯ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಧೂಮಪಾನದ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸವಿದ್ದರೂ ಬೇರೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಗಳಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ನಿರಂತರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಲಂಗಾಣದ ಎರ್ರಗಡ್ಡ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಔಷಧಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ, ಥನಲ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಎನ್‌.ಜಿ.ಒ. ತರಹದ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ನಿರಾಶ್ರಿತರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಮರುಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ಒಡೆದ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಒಂದಾಗಿಸುವ ಹೃದಯಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ನೆರವೇರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಜೀವಂತ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.
