Manjeshwar, On February 2, 2025  A woman named Snehalata Khemundu, approximately 28 years old, was found in a mentally distressed condition at Padanna in the Kasaragod district. She was admitted to the women’s wing of the Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre by the police officials of the Chandera division.

At Snehalaya, she was provided with complete medical care and support. Initial evaluations revealed that Snehalata Khemundu, around 28 at the time, had been suffering from mental health issues for the past five years and had not received any medical treatment during that period.

According to her family, Snehalata Khemundu fell into depression following a failed love relationship. She had stopped communicating with family members and isolated herself in her room. Due to the resulting tensions at home, she eventually left the house.

Snehalata Khemundu has five sisters, all of whom are married. Upon learning about her recovery and reunion, her family members, villagers, and neighbors responded with compassion and support.

After more than five months of consistent psychiatric care, emotional support, and rehabilitation at the women’s wing of Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre, Snehalata was finally able to return, on July 17, 2025, to her father’s home in Kallar village, Kakirigumma block, Koraput district, Odisha. Her father, Mr. S. Dayanidhi, welcomed her home with warmth and emotion.

This successful reunion was made possible through the selfless efforts of the Snehalaya Charitable Trust in Manjeshwar and the Shraddha Foundation in Mumbai.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 2, 2025ರಂದು ಸುಮಾರು 28 ವರ್ಷದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲತ ಖೇಮುಂಡು ಎಂಬ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಸರಗೋಡಿನ ಪಡನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ತೊಂದರೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಲಾಗಿತ್ತು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಚಂದೇರಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಪೋಲಿಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮನೋಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಮಹಿಳಾ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು,ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರೀತಿಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಉಪಚಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಆರೈಕೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು .

ಆರಂಭಿಕ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಸುಮಾರು 28 ವರ್ಷದ ಸ್ನೇಹಲತ ಖೇಮುಂಡುಗೆ ಕಳೆದ ಐದು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಇದ್ದು
ಆ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ,ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲತ ಖೇಮುಂಡು ಪ್ರೇಮ ಸಂಬಂಧದ ನಂತರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಕುಸಿತಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಕೊಠಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂಟಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಿಂದ ಮನೆದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಾದ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲತ ಮನೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದಳು.

ಆಕೆಗೆ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಸಹೋದರಿಯರು ಇದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ವಿವಾಹವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲತ ಖೇಮುಂಡು ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನದ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಾಗ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಹಾಗೂ ಊರಿನವರು ಹಾಗೂ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರು ಸಹಾನುಭೂತಿಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಿದರು.
ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮನೋಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಮಹಿಳಾ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಮಯದ ನಿರಂತರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯು, ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನಶ್ಚೇತನದ ನಂತರ, ಜುಲೈ 17, 2025 ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲತ ಖೇಮುಂಡುಗೆ ಒಡಿಶಾ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕೊರಾಪುಟ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ಕಾಕಿರಿಗುಮ್ಮ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಕಲ್ಲಾರ್ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಎಸ್. ದಯಾನಿಧಿ ಅವರ ಪಾರುಪತ್ಯ ಮನೆಗೆ ಮರಳಿ ಸೇರುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರೆಯಿತು.ಅವಳ ಮನೆಯವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಲತಗೆ ಮನಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ನೀಡಿದರು, ಈ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವು ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂಬೈನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಸೇವಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.
