Manjeshwar | July 3, 2025 – In a moving moment of love and relief, 50-year-old Shakeela was joyfully reunited with her daughter Harshana and family today at Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for Women. Shakeela, originally from 22/839, New Colony, Kalmandapam, Kunnathurmedu, Palakkad, Kerala, was found in a disoriented and distressed state under the B.C. Road bridge. Responding to a timely alert from Mr. Geo D’Silva, Mr. P.A. Rahim (former Rotary Club President, Modankapu), and Mr. Basheer (Ogga), the dedicated Snehalaya team, led by Founder Br. Joseph Crasta, rescued her with compassion and urgency.
Unable to clearly communicate and showing signs of psychiatric illness, Shakeela was brought to safety and care at Snehalaya, where she received the medical attention, emotional support, and dignity she deserved. Her native Malayalam was one of the few links to her past that remained with her.
Special thanks to Mr. Basheer and his family, who generously provided food and kindness to Shakeela during the days before her rescue.
A public appeal was made to help identify her, and today, that hope turned into reality. Shakeela’s daughter Harshana, filled with tears and gratitude, arrived at Snehalaya along with police from Palakkad to complete the official procedures. A missing person report had earlier been filed in Palakkad, Kerala.
Snehalaya stands proud and joyful to witness yet another homecoming—a testament to what community, compassion, and timely action can achieve.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಜುಲೈ 3, 2025 – ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರಾಳತೆಯ ಒಂದು ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, 50 ವರ್ಷದ ಶಕೀಲಾ ಇಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮನೋ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಗಳು ಹರ್ಷನಾ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೆ ಒಂದಾದರು.ಕೇರಳದ ಪಾಲಕ್ಕಾಡ್‌ನ ಕುನ್ನತ್ತೂರ್‌ಮೇಡು ಮೂಲದ ಶಕೀಲಾ, ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬಿ.ಸಿ. ರೋಡ್ ಸೇತುವೆಯ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಗೊಂದಲದ ಮತ್ತು ಆತಂಕದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದರು. ಶ್ರೀ ಜಿಯೋ ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ, ಶ್ರೀ ಪಿ.ಎ. ರಹೀಂ (ಮಾಜಿ ರೋಟರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ, ಮೊಡಂಕಾಪು), ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಬಶೀರ್ (ಒಗ್ಗ) ಅವರಿಂದ ದೊರೆತ ಸಕಾಲದ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಗೆ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡ, ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಸಹೋದರ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ಟಾ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕರುಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ತುರ್ತು ಮನೋಭಾವದಿಂದ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು.ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಶಕೀಲಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಳಜಿಗೆ ಕರೆತರಲಾಯಿತು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಉಪಚಾರ, ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆಕೆಯ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಭಾಷೆಯಾದ ಮಲಯಾಳಂ ಮಾತ್ರ ಆಕೆಯ ಭೂತಕಾಲದೊಂದಿಗಿನ ಕೆಲವು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಶಕೀಲಾ ಅವರ ಆತಂಕದ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿ, ಕಾಳಜಿ ವಹಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಶೀರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳು. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲಾತಿಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಕೀಲಾ ಅವರ ಗುರುತನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಹಿಡಿಯಲು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಮನವಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು, ಮತ್ತು ಇಂದು ಆ ಭರವಸೆಯು ವಾಸ್ತವವಿಕತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು. ಶಕೀಲಾ ಅವರ ಮಗಳು ಹರ್ಷನಾ, ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿ, ಪಾಲಕ್ಕಾಡ್‌ನಿಂದ ಪೊಲೀಸರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಕಾರ್ಯವಿಧಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದಳು. ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಪಾಲಕ್ಕಾಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣೆಯಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ವರದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಕಾಳಜಿ, ಮಾನವೀಯ ಕರುಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಕಾಲದ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲತೆಯಿಂದ ಏನನ್ನು ಬೇಕಾದರೂ ಸಾಧಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವನ್ನು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಖ್ಯಾತಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿತು.
