Kasaragod, April 22, 2025 — In a moving and emotional reunion that has touched hearts across the state, 39-year-old Rintu Kumar, who had been missing for nearly nine years, was finally reunited with his brother on Monday, owing to the dedicated efforts of the Snehalaya Charitable Trust in Kasaragod.

Rintu, a native of Koransarai village in Bihar’s Buxar district and son of the late Mahendra Prasad, had disappeared under distressing circumstances almost a decade ago. His prolonged absence went unreported, as no official missing person complaint was lodged at the time.

Before his disappearance, Rintu had worked at a local sweet shop. However, he gradually fell into alcohol addiction, which eventually led to serious mental health issues. One day, without notice or trace, he vanished, leaving his family in uncertainty for years.

It was on February 28, 2025,Mr. Kiran, a well-wisher of Snehalaya, displayed compassion by rescuing Ringu Kumar (45), a 45-year-old destitute man who was wandering the streets of Karkala, and providing him with shelter.Trust’s care, where he received psychological support, medical attention, and rehabilitation services. Over the following weeks, the organization initiated a meticulous family-tracing process, which ultimately led them to his brother in Bihar.

The reunion took place on April 22 at the Snehalaya Charitable Trust in the presence of staff and well-wishers. The emotional moment brought tears of joy to all present, as the long-lost siblings embraced after nearly a decade of separation. Rintu’s family and local villagers have welcomed him back with open arms and heartfelt support.

The successful tracing and reunion stand as a testament to Snehalaya’s unwavering commitment to the cause of rescuing and rehabilitating destitute individuals with mental illness. 2025ರ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 28ರಂದು ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರಾಶ್ರಿತರಂತೆ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ರಿಂಗು ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ಕಿರಣ್ ರವರು ಮಾನವೀಯ ಭಾವದಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಆಶ್ರಯಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಹಲವಾರು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ಸಹಾಯ, ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆ, ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚುವ ಗಂಭೀರ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ನಂತರ ಅವನ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಬಿಹಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಲಾಯಿತು.
