Manjeshwaram, April 22, 2025 — In a commendable act of compassion and prompt response, the rescue team of the Snehalaya Psycho Social Trust successfully intervened on Tuesday to assist a man in visible psychological distress, found wandering the streets of Manjeshwaram.

The man, identified as Amen and believed to be in his 40s, was discovered without proper personal hygiene and exhibiting signs of severe disorientation. Eyewitnesses reported that Amen appeared to be walking aimlessly along the roadside, demonstrating markedly reduced psychomotor activity and an inability to engage in verbal communication.

Upon arrival, the Snehalaya team conducted an initial psychological and physical assessment. Based on their evaluation, Amen was identified as having an autistic personality, which may have contributed to his vulnerable condition and communication challenges.

The trust, known for its extensive work in mental health outreach and rehabilitation, has taken Amen under its care and is working to provide him with the necessary support and treatment.

This incident highlights both the growing need for mental health awareness in public spaces and the vital role of organizations like Snehalaya in providing urgent care to individuals in crisis.
