Manjeshwar: After two years of separation, Umada Devi, also known as Chatri Devi, has been reunited with her family in an emotional homecoming. Her son and daughter-in-law welcomed her back, ending a period of uncertainty in their lives.
A resident of Tarbi, Palasi, in Bihar’s Araria district, Umada Devi had been struggling with mental illness and had previously received treatment in Purnia. Her sudden disappearance left her family distressed, though no missing person’s report was filed. Hope was restored when Snehalaya, Kasaragod, rescued her with assistance from the Shakhi One Stop Centre, Udupi, on December 26, 2024.
After treatment and recovery, she was transferred to Shraddha on February 24, 2025, for the reunion process. On March 27, 2025, she was joyfully reunited with her family, who expressed deep gratitude for her remarkable recovery. They acknowledged her improved condition, thanks to the dedicated care of the institutions involved.
The successful reunion was made possible through the efforts of Snehalaya, Shraddha, and the Shakhi One Stop Centre, Udupi. Special recognition goes to Mrs. Smitha, Legal Advisor, for her crucial role in facilitating Umada’s return.

ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಧೀರ್ಘ ಅಗಲಿಕೆಯ ಬಳಿಕ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳಿದ ಉಮಾದಾ ದೇವಿ
ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ: ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ವಿಯೋಗದ ಬಳಿಕ, [ಚಾತ್ರೀ ದೇವಿಯೆಂದು ಕೂಡ ಪರಿಚಿತರಾಗಿರುವ] ಉಮಾದಾ ದೇವಿ, ಭಾವುಕ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡರು. ಅವರ ಮಗ ಮತ್ತು ಸೊಸೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷಭರಿತವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ಆಕೆಯ ಜೀವನದ ಅನಿಶ್ಚಿತತೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂತ್ಯವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟರು.
ಬಿಹಾರದ ಅರರಿಯಾ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ತರ್ಬಿ, ಪಲಾಸಿಯ ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾದ ಉಮಾದಾ ದೇವಿ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲು ಪುರ್ಣಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಅಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ ನಾಪತ್ತೆ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಕಟ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿತ್ತು, ಆದರೂ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿರುವವರ ಕುರಿತು ಯಾವುದೇ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. 2024ರ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 26 ರಂದು, ಉಡುಪಿ ಸಖಿ ಒನ್ ಸ್ಟಾಪ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸಹಕಾರದಿಂದ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಉಮಾದಾ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದಾಗ ಆಕೆಯ ಬಾಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಆಶೆಯ ಬೆಳಕು ಕಾಣಿಸಿತು.
ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತಮ ಆರೈಕೆಯ ಬಳಿಕ, 2025ರ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 24 ರಂದು ಮುಂದಿನ ಅವರ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಾಗಿ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ವರ್ಗಾಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 27, 2025 ರಂದು, ಅವರು ಸಂತೋಷಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡರು. ಅವರ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಕರು ಮತ್ತು ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರು ಅವರ ಶ್ರೇಯೋಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಖುಷಿಪಟ್ಟು, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಪ್ರೀತಿಪೂರ್ಣ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
