Manjeshwar: In a heartwarming turn of events, Ranjit has finally returned home after a long 18 months of separation on March 15, 2025, coinciding with the joyous festival of Holi.

Ranjit had been struggling with mental illness for the past six years, spending five years under treatment at a private hospital in Darbhanga, followed by two months of care at Ranchi Mental Hospital. Before his illness, he had been employed as a helper at a local village shop, a simpler time when his family’s world was still intact.
After his disappearance, his family relentlessly searched for him, holding onto hope despite the challenges they faced.

Their prayers were finally answered when the Snehalaya Charitable Trust, based in Kasaragod, Kerala, rescued Ranjit on December 29, 2024. He was subsequently transferred to Shraddha Foundation, which facilitated the reunion with his family.

The moment of Ranjit’s return was one of the greatest moment of overwhelming joy and emotion. His family, overcome with relief, embraced him, while the entire village came together to welcome him back with open arms and warmth.
