Santoshi, a mother of three, had been battling mental illness for over 13 years. Her condition took a devastating turn after the tragic death of her husband in an accident, which caused a relapse, leaving her mentally unstable. For the past two years, she had been missing, and her family had tirelessly searched for her, filing a missing person’s report and praying for her return.
Her brother had taken on the responsibility of raising her children—one son and two daughters—while coping with the heartbreaking uncertainty of Santoshi’s fate.
On November 3, 2024, hope was restored when Santoshi was found near Mangalore Junction by Snehalaya Charitable Trust. She was provided with the necessary treatment and care before being transferred to Shraddha Foundation, which facilitated her reunion with her family. After months of rehabilitation, Santoshi was joyfully reunited with her loved ones on March 11, 2025.
The reunion was a deeply emotional occasion, with her family, neighbors, and villagers welcoming her back with open arms. Tears flowed as Santoshi embraced her children and brother after the long separation, a moment that marked the end of a painful chapter and the beginning of a hopeful future.
