Manjeshwar, January 6, 2025 – In an extraordinary act of compassion, Br. Joseph Crasta and the dedicated team at Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre have rescued Vikram Singh, a 23-year-old young man found wandering lost and alone on the streets of Thuminad, Talapady.
Vikram, originally from Jharkhand, was found in a heartbreaking state. Disoriented and confused, he was talking to himself and displaying signs of deep distress. His once-bright spirit seemed hidden behind muttering, vacant smiles, and moments of silence. The world around him was blurry, but one thing was clear: Vikram needed help. Poor personal hygiene, hoarding small items, and his dependence on pan masala and beedis only reflected the weight of the struggles he’s been carrying for far too long.
Now, Vikram is under the loving care of the team at Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Home for Men. Here, he is finally receiving the medical care, counseling, and support he so desperately needs to regain his health, his dignity, and perhaps even a glimmer of hope for the future.

ಜಾರ್ಖಂಡ್ ನ ಮೂಲ ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾದ ವಿಕ್ರಂ, ತೀವ್ರ ಕಷ್ಟಕರ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದರು. ಗೊಂದಲಗೊಂಡು, ಶಾರೀರಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಹೀನತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಾವು ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಮತ್ತು ಆಳವಾದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಒತ್ತಡದ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸುವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾಂತಿಹೀನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು, ಬರಡಾದ ವರ್ಚಸ್ಸು, ಸ್ವ-ಮಾತುಕತೆ, ಅರ್ಥವಿಲ್ಲದ ನಗು, ಮತ್ತು ವಿಲಕ್ಷಣ ಮೌನದ ನಡುವೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸುತ್ತು ಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಜಗತ್ತು ಮುಸುಕಿನಂತಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಒಂದು ವಿಷಯ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿತ್ತು: ವಿಕ್ರಂಗೆ ನೆರವು ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
