Trustee of Snehalaya Mr. Prakash Pinto and his wife spotted Mahesh Rao aged about 65 years wandering aimlessly on the streets of Kadri. They found him in a depressed state mentally disturbed condition. He also has some physical health issues. There was nobody nearby to help him. As he is old and going through the old age-related problems with psychiatric problems, they thought of providing him shelter and care.

ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಪಿಂಟೋ ರವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪತ್ನಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕದ್ರಿ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ದಿನಾಂಕ 11.04.2022 ರಂದು ಸುಮಾರು 65 ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಮಹೇಶ್ ರಾವ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕದ್ರಿಯ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡ್ಡಾದಿಡ್ಡಿಯಾಗಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಮೀಪಸಿದ ದಂಪತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಖಿನ್ನತೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಮಾನಸಿಕವಾಗಿ ತೊಂದರೆಗೀಡಾದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು ಕಂಡಿತು . ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೆಲವು ದೈಹಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳೂ ಇದ್ದವು .ಆತನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಹತ್ತಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಯಸ್ಸಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ವೃದ್ಧಾಪ್ಯ ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕಾರಣ, ಅವರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯ ಮತ್ತು ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲು ಯೋಚಿಸಿದರು.
