Auto rickshaw drivers in Kerala have different lifestyles. They work on a daily basis and earn enough money to spend with their family. Rickshaw drivers with their humble behaviour and hard work, earn money by taking passengers to their destinations. He works day in, day out. The hard work of rickshaw drivers does not match the money for their fulfilment. Most of the time people try to pay him less. Their life is simple life as they stand near road intersections and wait for passengers.

Snehalaya Charitable Trust have had conducted a survey in previous weeks to determine the necessities of auto drivers and to identify their challenges and problems. Hence the management has considered helping them in some way. They were not aware of the government-provided insurance plans and other services. Hence, a seminar was held during the Program to raise awareness of the post office’s insurance programmes. The instructor was Mr Rajashekar, Manager IPPB, Kasargod.

The programme was attended by Mr KR Jayananda, Mr Harshad Vorkady, and Mr Harishchandra in addition to Bro. Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್‌ನ ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರಿಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 3, 2023 ರಂದು ವಿಶೇಷ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೊಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ 50 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಮತ್ತು ಲವಲವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡರು.

ಕೇರಳದ ಆಟೋ ರಿಕ್ಷಾ ಚಾಲಕರು ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಜೀವನಶೈಲಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ದಿನನಿತ್ಯದ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡುವಷ್ಟು ಹಣವನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ರಿಕ್ಷಾ ಚಾಲಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ವಿನಮ್ರ ನಡವಳಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಗಮ್ಯಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರು ದಿನವಿಡೀ ದುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ರಿಕ್ಷಾ ಚಾಲಕರ ಶ್ರಮವು ಅವರ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೆಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಮಯ ಜನರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮೊತ್ತವನ್ನು ಪಾವತಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ರಸ್ತೆ ಸಂದಿಗಳ ಬಳಿ ನಿಂತು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾಯುವ ಅವರ ಜೀವನ ಸರಳವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಹಿಂದಿನ ವಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಸವಾಲುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಲು ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿತ್ತು. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಚಿಂತನೆ ನಡೆಸಿತ್ತು. ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಒದಗಿಸುವ ವಿಮಾ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅರಿವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಅಂಚೆ ಕಛೇರಿಯ ವಿಮಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸಲು  ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಜಶೇಖರ್, ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್ ಐಪಿಪಿಬಿ, ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಅವರ ನೆತ್ರತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಸಮಯ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣವನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಥಿತಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ ಆರ್ ಜಯಾನಂದ, ಶ್ರೀ ಹರ್ಷದ್ ವೋರ್ಕಾಡಿ, ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಹರಿಶ್ಚಂದ್ರ ರವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾರವರು ವಿಮಾ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಕ್ಶರ ಮಾಡಿದರು ಹಾಗೊ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ನಿಂದ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ 40 ನೋಂದಣಿ ಕೂಪನ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.
