A destitute named Raju believed to be around 55 years old, was rescued from the streets of Maada, Kunjathur. The rescue operation was carried out by the dedicated team of Snehalaya, under the able guidance of Bro Joseph Crasta, the founder of the organization.
The rescue was carried out after receiving information from a concerned citizen, Mr. Nitesh Kumar, who reported Raju’s deteriorating condition. Raju had been found sleeping in front of nearby shops and was visibly unwell. Reports indicate that he has been battling addiction issues, with a 20-year history of smoking and alcohol consumption.
During interactions with the Snehalaya team, Raju claimed to hail from Bihar and spoke the Hindi language. He is admitted to Snehalaya for necessary medical care and treatment.

ದಿನಾಂಕ 23/07/2023 ರಂದು ಕುಂಜತ್ತೂರಿನ ನಿತೇಶ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರಿಂದ ದೊರೆತ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸುಮಾರು 55 ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ರಾಜು ಎಂಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾರವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ಕುಂಜತ್ತೂರಿನ ಮಾಡಾದ ರಸ್ತೆ ಬದಿಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು.
ಸ್ಥಳಿಯರಿಂದ ದೊರೆತ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ರಾಜು ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತ ಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಅಂಗಡಿಯ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಕಳೆದ 20 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಧೂಮ್ರಪಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯಪಾನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆತನು ತಾನು ಬಿಹಾರದವನೆನ್ನುತಿದ್ದು ಹಿಂದಿ ಭಾಶೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡುತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಹಾಗು ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
