On June 19, 2019, Brother Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya, and his team rescued a woman named Kamala Devi, aged 64, from Shakti Nagar in Mangalore. They admitted her to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for Women for care and treatment. At the time of her admission, she was suffering from a mental illness, and exhibiting psychiatric symptoms such as self-talk and aggressive behavior.
After actively participating in all our activities and counseling sessions, her condition began to improve. She started to share information about her family and whereabouts. In order to facilitate the further reunion process, she was transferred to Shraddha Mumbai.
On August 3, 2023, she was successfully reunited with her family in South Delhi. Her nephew received her, and they were overjoyed to see her after being separated for 5 years. According to the family, she had been suffering from mental illness for the past 6 years due to some family problems. The family was filled with immense joy upon receiving her in this improved condition. They expressed their gratitude to Snehalaya and Shraddha Centres for their selfless service.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 19/06/2019ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾರವರು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಶಕ್ತಿನಗರದ ಬೀದಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 64ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ಕಮಲಾ ದೇವಿ ಎಂಬ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು. ದಾಖಲಾತಿಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕೆಯು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತಿದ್ದು ಸ್ವಯಂ ಮಾತುಕತೆ, ಆಕ್ರಮಣಕಾರಿ ನಡುವಳಿಕೆ ಮುಂತಾದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಲಕ್ಶಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಳು.
ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರೆತ ಉತ್ತಮ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಹಾಗು ಆಪ್ತ ಸಮಾಲೊಚನೆಗಳ ಫಲವಾಗಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಆಕೆಯ ಊರನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ಹೀಗೆ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರೀಯೆಗಾಗಿ ಅಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂಬೈಯ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ವರ್ಗಾಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 03/08/2019ರಂದು ದೇಹಲಿಯ ತನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದಂದಿಗೆ ಆಕೆಯ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವಾಯಿತು. ಆಕೆಯ ಸೋದರಳಿಯ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಆದರದಿಂದ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದನು. 5ವರ್ಷದ ನಂತರ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂಪಡೆದ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸಂತೋಷಕ್ಕೆ ಮಿತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದಂತಾಯಿತು.ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕಮಲಾ ದೇವಿ ಕಳೆದ 6ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತಿದ್ದು 5ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ನಾಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳು.ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರದ್ದಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ತುಂಬು ಹೃದಯದ ಕೃತಜ್ನತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
