On 19th October 2023, Mrs. Olivia Crasta, the trustee and Secratary of Snehalaya, along with her team, conducted a rescue operation in Surathkal and Baikampady of Mangalore, where they successfully rescued three destitutes, comprising two females and one male.
The rescue mission commenced in Surathkal, and based on information provided by the public, the team rescued a woman named Kusum, approximately 45 years of age. While returning to Snehalaya, they encountered two more destitutes on the streets of Baikampady: Laxman, around 42 years old, and a female named Sunitha, approximately 28 years old. All three individuals have been admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre, which caters to both men and women, ensuring their well-being and treatment.
Notably, all three of them are struggling with mental illness. Laxman has stated that he hails from Haryana and is proficient in the Hindi language. Kusum, although she speaks Hindi, has no known native place. Sunitha speaks Malayalam and claims to be from Shoranur, Kerala. Unfortunately, additional details about their backgrounds remain elusive.

ದಿನಾಂಕ 19/10/2023ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ಹಾಗು ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಒಲಿವಿಯಾ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾರವರ ನೆತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಸುರತ್ಕಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬೈಕಂಪಾಡಿಯ ಬೀದಿಯಿಂದ ಮೂವರು ನಿರಾಶ್ರಿತರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು.
ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ಸುರತ್ಕಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು.ತಂಡವು ಕುಸುಮ್ ಎಂಬ ಸುಮಾರು 42ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಬೈಕಂಪಾಡಿಯ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತಿದ್ದ ಲಕ್ಶ್ಮಣ್ ಎಂಬ ಸುಮಾರು 42ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಸುನಿತಾ ಎಂಬ ಸುಮಾರು 28 ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೂ ಮುಂದಾದರು.
ಈ ಮೂವರು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತಿದ್ದು, ಲಕ್ಶ್ಮಣ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಸುಮ್ ಹಿಂದಿ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಲಕ್ಶ್ಮಣ್ ತನ್ನ ಹುಟ್ಟೂರು ಹರಿಯಾಣವೆನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಸುನಿತಾ ಮಳಯಾಳಂ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತಿದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಹುಟ್ಟೂರು ಕೇರಳದ ಶೋರನೂರು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
