On July 16, 2024, Chintakayala Chandrashekar, a 41-year-old mentally ill person, was rescued from the streets of Hosangadi and admitted to the Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre for Men. This compassionate effort was led by Bro. Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya, and the Snehalaya team. Chintakayala Chandrashekar was observed sitting at the bus stand with poor self-care and shabby attire, displaying signs of mental health-related problems. He communicates in Telugu and claims to be from Kaluva in Andhra Pradesh, mentioning his father’s name as Chintakayala Pedda Narasimhulu. He is currently receiving care and treatment at Snehalaya.
