On June 13, 2024, Shukkur, a 28-year-old mentally ill person, was found in a meditative position on the streets of Pumpwell near Indiana Hospital. He was successfully rescued and admitted to the Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre for Men. This compassionate effort was led by Bro. Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya. Shukkur was observed wandering the streets with poor self-care and shabby attire, displaying signs of mental health-related issues. While receiving treatment at Snehalaya, his condition improved significantly. As part of his further rehabilitation, he was sent to the Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation in Mumbai.
On August 7, 2024, Shukkur was successfully reunited with his family in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal after being separated from them for three months. The reunion was an emotional moment for the family, who revealed that his real name is Sukru Bahadur Chhetri. He had been working as a vehicle mechanic in his hometown but became mentally unstable due to work-related stress and financial difficulties. The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards both Snehalaya and Shraddha Rehabilitation Centres for their selfless service and support in reuniting them with their loved one.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 13/06/24 ರಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪಂಪ್ವೆಲ್ ಬಳಿಯ ಇಂಡಿಯಾನ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಸಮೀಪದ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಗ ಮುದ್ರಾ ಅವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ ಸುಮಾರು 28ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ಶುಕ್ಕೂರ್ ಎಂಬ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನನ್ನು, ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಸಹೋದರ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡದವರು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ,ಮುಂದಿನ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯಿಂದ ಆತನ ಅರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂತು ಮತ್ತು ಆತ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರೀಯವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು, ಆತನ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರೀಯೆಯನ್ನು ಸುಗಮಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಅತನನ್ನು ಮುಂಬೈಯ ಶೃದ್ಧಾ ರೀಹ್ಯಾಬಿಲೆ‍‌ಶನ್ ಫೌಂಡೆಶನ್ ಗೆ ವರ್ಗಾಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 07.08.2024ರಂದು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ಜಲ್ಪೈಗುರಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವಾಯಿತು. ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ಆತನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಕುಟುಂಬಿಕರು ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಭಾವುಕರಾದರು.ಕುಟುಂಬದಿಂದ ದೊರೆತ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಆತನ ನಿಜ ಹೆಸರು ಸುಕ್ರು ಬಹದ್ದೂರ್ ಛೆಟ್ರಿ ತನ್ನ ಊರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಹನದ ಮೆಕ್ಯಾನಿಕ್ ಆಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಆತ ಕೆಲಸದ ಒತ್ತಡದಿಂದ ಆ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ತನ್ನ ಖರ್ಚಿಗೆ ಹಣವಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದಾಗ ನೊಂದು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಗೆ ತುತ್ತಾಗಿ ಬೀದಿ ಬದಿ ಅಲೆಯಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನದ ಪುಣ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಶೃದ್ದಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕುಟುಂಬಿಕರು ತುಂಬು ಹೃದಯದ ಕೃತಜ್ನತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
