On March 29, 2024, a mentally ill woman named Yamuna was rescued from the Mangalore Central Railway Station and subsequently admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Home for women for further care and treatment by Brother Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya. He was accompanied by the trustee and secretary of Snehalaya, Mrs. Olivia Crasta, and the Snehalaya team.
After receiving essential care and treatment at Snehalaya, Yamuna’s condition improved, and through the dedicated efforts of the Snehalaya and Shraddha teams, her address was successfully traced. On August 5, 2024, Yamuna was reunited with her family in the Banka district of Bihar. She had been missing for a year. According to her family, due to some domestic issues, she developed mental health problems, and without being aware of her condition, the correct treatment was not provided, which exacerbated her illness. The family expressed their gratitude to both the Snehalaya and Shraddha teams for their selfless service to mankind.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 29.03.2024 ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಸಹೋದರ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಒಲಿವಿಯಾ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾರವರು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಿಂದ ಯಮುನಾ ಎಂಬ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ವಿಭಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಈಕೆ ದಾಖಲಾತಿಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಳಕಾದ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿ, ಶಾರಿರೀಕ ನೈರ್ಮಲ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಆಕ್ರಮಣಕಾರಿ ಸ್ವಭಾವವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಳು.ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆರೈಕೆ ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂಬೈಯ ಶೃದ್ದಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಆಕೆಯ ವಿಳಾಸವನ್ನು ಕೆಲವೇ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ಆಕೆಯ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರೀಯೆಯನ್ನು ಸುಗಮಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ರಿಹ್ಯಾಬಿಲೆಶನ್ ಫೌಂಡೆಶನ್ ಮುಂಬೈ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ವರ್ಗಾಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 05.08.2024ರಂದು ಬಿಹಾರದ ಬಂಕಾ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆಕೆಯ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವಾಯಿತು. ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ಬಳಿಕ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಹೇಳುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಆಕೆ ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಾದ ಯಾವುದೊ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಗೆ ತುತ್ತಾಗಿದ್ದಳು, ಆದರೆ ರೋಗದ ಅರಿವಾಗದೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಸಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಸಿಗದ ಕಾರಣ ಆಕೆಯ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಹದೆಗೆಟ್ಟಿತು.
ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಆಕೆಯ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಆಶ್ವಾಸನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಈ ಪುಣ್ಯಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಶೃದ್ದಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ತುಂಬು ಹೃದಯದ ಕೃತಜ್ನತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
