Kaza Banda Nawaz Successfully Reunited with His Family After Two Years
Manjeshwar, October 28, 2026: Mr. Kaja Banda Nawaz, a native of Ilkal in Bagalkot district, Karnataka, was successfully reunited with his mother and family after nearly two years, following the dedicated care, treatment, and rehabilitation efforts of Snehalaya Charitable Trust and Shraddha Foundation.
On January 2, 2026, Kaja was rescued from Manjeshwar auto stand after being found in a vulnerable condition. The rescue was initiated following information provided by auto driver Mr. Baduruddin to Br. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya. Responding promptly, the Snehalaya team brought him to safety and arranged for his further care and rehabilitation at Shraddha Foundation.
During the medical assessment, Kaja was identified as having a probable schizo-affective illness. He received the necessary treatment, care, and supervision during his rehabilitation.
Before the onset of his mental health difficulties, Kaja had been working in a local factory. However, his condition led to the loss of his employment and separation from his family. During his absence, his father also passed away. It was further learned that his brother was experiencing mental health difficulties and was also missing.
Through sustained efforts, Kaja’s family was traced and contact was established. Following his discharge from Shraddha Foundation on October 27, 2026, Kaja was reunited with his mother and family on October 28, 2026. Despite their difficult financial circumstances, his family warmly welcomed him home, and his mother took responsibility for his continued care.
The family was counselled on the importance of regular medication and continued treatment. They were advised to continue his treatment at the Government Hospital in Bagalkot, and a one-month supply of medication was provided to support his ongoing recovery.
This successful reunion reflects the continued humanitarian commitment of Snehalaya Charitable Trust and Shraddha Foundation to rescuing vulnerable individuals, providing appropriate treatment and rehabilitation, and helping them reconnect with their families. Their coordinated efforts have enabled Kaja to return home and begin the next stage of his recovery in the care of his loved ones.
