48 ವರ್ಷದ ಪುರೇಂದ್ರ ಧಿರ್ಹೆ ಅವರನ್ನು 2026ರ ಜುಲೈ 19ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್, ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ ತಂಡದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಬಳಿಕ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನದ ವೇಳೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ಕಿಜೋ-ಅಫೆಕ್ಟಿವ್ ಕಾಯಿಲೆ ಇರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ನಿರಂತರ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಬೆಂಬಲದ ನಂತರ, 2026ರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 3ರಂದು ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 30ರಂದು ಪುರೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಪುರೇಂದ್ರ ಅವರು 12ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ನಂತರ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕಳೆದ ಸುಮಾರು 20 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರು ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಸುಮಾರು 16 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಛತ್ತೀಸ್ಗಢದ ರಾಯಪುರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು.
ನಿರಂತರ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸಾಧಿಸಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಪುರಂದರ್ ಅವರ ತಾಯಿ ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಗನನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕಾಳಜಿಯಿಂದ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಸುಮಾರು ನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ತಾಯಿ ನಿಧನರಾದ ನಂತರ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ, ಅವರ ಆರೈಕೆ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಹದಗೆಟ್ಟಿತು. ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಸದೆ ಅವರು ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದರು.
ಪುರಂದರ್ ಕಾಣೆಯಾದ ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹೋದರಿ ಹಲವು ಕಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಡುಕಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ತಂದೆ ಕೇರಳಕ್ಕೂ ತೆರಳಿ ಹುಡುಕಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕುಟುಂಬಸ್ಥರು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ದೂರು ಕೂಡ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಯಾವುದೇ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ದೊರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
ಕೊನೆಗೂ ಪುರಂದರ್ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ, ಅವರ ಮನೆಗೆ ಮರಳುವ ದಾರಿ ಸುಗಮವಾಯಿತು. ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 30ರಂದು ಪುರಂದರ್ ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾದ ಕ್ಷಣ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಿಂಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ಪುರಂದರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ತಂದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹೋದರಿ ಅಪಾರ ಸಂತೋಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ದುರ್ಬಲವಾಗಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಪುರಂದರ್ ಅವರ ಮುಂದಿನ ಆರೈಕೆಯ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರ ತಂದೆಯೇ ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಟುಂಬಸ್ಥರಿಗೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ, ಔಷಧಿಗಳ ನಿಯಮಿತ ಬಳಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂದಿನ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಪುರಂದರ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳ ಔಷಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಮುಂದಿನ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಮೀಪದ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಾಗಿ ರಾಯಪುರ, ಛತ್ತೀಸ್ಗಢವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

Purendra Dhirhe Reunited with Family After Months Away from Home with Support from Snehalaya and Shraddha Foundation
Manjeshwar, October 4, 2026: After spending several months away from his family, 48-year-old Purendra Dhirhe, originally from Raipur district, Chhattisgarh, has been successfully reunited with his loved ones through the combined efforts of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Manjeshwar, and Shraddha Foundation, Mumbai.
Purendra, who was known by the name Purandar Dhirhe, was rescued by the Snehalaya Charitable Trust on July 19, 2026. During his mental health assessment, he was identified as having a probable schizo-affective illness. With continued care, treatment, rehabilitation and psychosocial support, he showed improvement and was subsequently admitted to Shraddha Foundation on September 3, 2026. Following efforts to trace his family, Purendra was successfully reunited with them on September 30, 2026.
Purendra had completed his education up to the 12th standard and had led a relatively stable life before experiencing mental health difficulties. According to his family, symptoms began appearing later in his life, and he had been living with mental health challenges for nearly 20 years. His family had made continuous efforts to provide him with treatment, including approximately 16 years of treatment at a mental health hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
His mother had cared for him with great affection and dedication during her lifetime. However, following her death around four years ago, the family’s circumstances changed and his regular care was affected. His mental health condition gradually deteriorated, and one day he left home without informing anyone.
After Purendra went missing, his father and sister made extensive efforts to locate him. His father even travelled to Kerala in search of his missing son, while the family also approached the police and registered a missing-person complaint. Despite their efforts, they received no information about his whereabouts for several months.
The long-awaited moment finally came when contact was established between Purendra and his family. On September 30, meeting his father after several months became an deeply emotional moment for the entire family. His father and sister expressed immense happiness at seeing Purendra safe and ready to return home.
Considering the family’s difficult financial circumstances, his father has taken responsibility for his continued care. At the time of reunion, the family was provided with guidance regarding mental health care, regular medication and continued psychiatric treatment to support Purendra’s recovery.
Purendra was provided with two months of medication, and the family was advised to ensure that his treatment continues without interruption. Raipur, Chhattisgarh, was recommended as the nearest location for his continued mental health treatment and follow-up care.
The family members expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Br. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya, Snehalaya Charitable Trust, and Shraddha Foundation, Mumbai, for their support in ensuring Purandar’s safe reunion with his family.
