ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪೂಜಾ ಅವರು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಪಡುಬಿದ್ರಿಯ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕಿರಣ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, ಕಟಿಪಳ್ಳ ಅವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರದರ್. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ರವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.

Pooja Found in a Vulnerable Condition in Padubidri Receives Care and Rehabilitation at Snehalaya

Manjeshwar, September 25, 2026: Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre, Manjeshwar, which is dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of homeless, vulnerable and socially disadvantaged individuals, has provided safe shelter and rehabilitation support to Mrs. Pooja, a native of Yelahanka, Bengaluru, who was found in a vulnerable condition on the streets of Padubidri, Udupi District.

Mrs. Pooja was admitted to Snehalaya on September 21, 2026, for care, protection and rehabilitation. Her situation was brought to the attention of the institution by Mr. Kiran Kumar of Katipalla, who informed Snehalaya Founder Br. Joseph Crasta about her condition.

Following the information, the Snehalaya rescue team promptly reached Padubidri, rescued Mrs. Pooja and brought her safely to the rehabilitation centre. Upon her admission, the team initiated the necessary care and rehabilitation procedures.

At the time of admission, Mrs. Pooja was observed to have poor personal hygiene and certain behavioural and mental health-related concerns. Considering her condition and individual needs, the centre has been providing appropriate care, health monitoring and psychosocial rehabilitation support. At Snehalaya, she is receiving care in a safe and supportive environment. Efforts are also being made to establish contact with her family and take the necessary steps towards her further rehabilitation and welfare.

Through the timely intervention of Mr. Kiran Kumar and the prompt response of the Snehalaya rescue team, Mrs. Pooja, who was found in a vulnerable condition on the streets, has now received access to safety, care and rehabilitation support.
