Kerala Native Anish Found in Distressed Condition in Malpe Reunited with Family After Care at Snehalaya

Manjeshwar, September 18, 2026: Mr. Anish, a native of Kerala, who was found in a vulnerable and neglected condition near Vodamandeshwara in Malpe, was reunited with his family on September 18 following treatment, care and rehabilitation at the Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre.

At the time of rescue, Anish was found with poor personal hygiene, dishevelled clothing, wandering behaviour, alcohol dependency and aggressive behaviour. He was also found to have an injury to his head. The matter was brought to the attention of Mr. Vinuth Kumar, Home Guard at Malpe Police Station, who, with the assistance of Mr. Ramadas Palam, social worker from Udyavara, brought the case to the notice of Brother Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya.

Anish was admitted to Snehalaya on September 15, where he received necessary medical treatment, personal care, safe shelter and rehabilitation support.

As part of the family-tracing process, assistance was received from the Karnataka District Legal Services Authority and the Kasaragod DLSA team. Following continuous coordination and efforts to trace his family, his relative, Mr. Binoy Babu from Thiruvananthapuram, came forward to receive him.

On September 18, Anish was formally discharged from Snehalaya and handed over to Mr. Binoy Babu to return to his family.

The reunion stands as an example of how timely intervention, compassionate care, rehabilitation and coordinated efforts can help vulnerable individuals regain their dignity and reconnect with their families.

The support and cooperation of Mr. Vinuth Kumar, Mr. Ramadas Palam and Mr. Vishwa Shetty also played an important role in facilitating the rescue, care and successful family reunion.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 18, 2026: ಮಲ್ಪೆಯ ವೋಡಮಂಡೇಶ್ವರ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷಿತ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅನೀಶ್ ಅವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 18ರಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡರು.

ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆಯ ಕೊರತೆ, ಅಸ್ತವ್ಯಸ್ತ ಉಡುಗೆ, ಅಲೆದಾಡುವ ವರ್ತನೆ, ಮದ್ಯ ಅವಲಂಬನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಕ್ರಮಣಕಾರಿ ವರ್ತನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಅನೀಶ್ ಅವರ ತಲೆಯ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಯವೂ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಮಲ್ಪೆ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಹೋಂ ಗಾರ್ಡ್ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿನೂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಉದ್ಯಾವರದ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವಕ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮದಾಸ್ ಪಾಲಂ ಅವರ ಸಹಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತರಲಾಯಿತು.

ಅನೀಶ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 15ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ, ಅಗತ್ಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಆಶ್ರಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಕುಟುಂಬ ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚುವ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾನೂನು ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಡಿ.ಎಸ್.ಎಲ್.ಎ ತಂಡದ ಸಹಕಾರ ದೊರೆಯಿತು. ನಿರಂತರ ಸಮನ್ವಯದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಅವರ ಸೋದರ ಸಂಬಂಧಿ ತಿರುವನಂತಪುರಂದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಿನೋಯ್ ಬಾಬು, ತಿರುವನಂತಪುರಂ ಅವರು ಅನೀಶ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲು ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದರು. ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 18ರಂದು ಅನೀಶ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಬಿನೋಯ್ ಬಾಬು ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕುಟುಂಬದತ್ತ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
