ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ್, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 15, 2026: ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಾ ಕುಟುಂಬದಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ನ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಇದೀಗ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

2025ರ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 21ರಂದು ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು, ಕೇರಳದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ತಂಡವು ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆತಂದಿತು. ಮೊಂಟೆಪದವು ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಗೊಂದಲಗೊಂಡ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಅನ್ಸರ್ ಅವರು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಬ್ರದರ್. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ತಂಡ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು.

ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಾದ ನಂತರ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ, ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ, ಔಷಧೋಪಚಾರ, ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಆರೈಕೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.

30 ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 2026ರಂದು ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ನಂತರ ಅವರ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತು. 12 ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 2026ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.

ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಳೆದ ಸುಮಾರು ಐದು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಇತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯಿಂದ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೂ ಮೊದಲು ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಕೃಷಿ ಕೆಲಸದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ದಿನಗೂಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಕೆಲಸದ ವೇಳೆ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಮಂಡಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಅಪಘಾತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಕೈ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸುಟ್ಟ ಗಾಯಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಆ ಘಟನೆಯ ನಂತರ ಅವರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಮೀಪದ ಎರಡು–ಮೂರು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರೂ, ಅವರು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸದೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಂತರ ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಅವರು ಕುಟುಂಬದಿಂದ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ನಾಪತ್ತೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದ ಔಷಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿ, ಮುಂದಿನ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ತುಮಕೂರು, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಸಮೀಪದ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲು ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್, ಮುಂಬೈ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಿಂದ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡರು. 2026ರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 13ರಂದು ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪತ್ನಿ, ಪುತ್ರಿಯರು ಮತ್ತು ತಾಯಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡರು. ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಭೇಟಿಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಕಂಡುಬಂದವು. ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಮತ್ತು ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರಿಂದಲೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸ್ಪಂದನೆ ದೊರೆಯಿತು.

Santhosh Kumar Reunited with His Family After a Year

Manjeshwar, September 15, 2026: After being separated from his family and missing for more than a year, Mr. Santhosh Kumar, who was living with mental health challenges, has been successfully reunited with his family following comprehensive care, treatment and rehabilitation at Snehalaya Charitable Trust.

On November 21, 2025, the Snehalaya Charitable Trust rescue team in Manjeshwar, Kerala, received information from a local resident, Mr. Ansar, who noticed Santhosh Kumar wandering in a confused and helpless condition along the Monthepadavu Road. Acting promptly on the information, the Snehalaya rescue team, under the leadership of its founder, Br. Joseph Crasta, reached the location and brought him safely to the Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre.

Following his admission, Santhosh Kumar received comprehensive care, including medical examination, mental health assessment, medication, counselling and rehabilitation support. With continued treatment and care, his condition gradually improved.

A follow-up assessment was conducted on August 30, 2026, which confirmed significant improvement in his overall condition. He was subsequently discharged from the Snehalaya Centre on September 12, 2026, with the necessary medicines and advice to continue his treatment at a nearby hospital in Tumakuru, Karnataka.

According to information provided by his family, Santhosh Kumar had been experiencing mental health difficulties for approximately five years. Prior to the onset of these challenges, he had been leading a normal life, working in agriculture as well as undertaking daily-wage employment. During one of his work assignments involving an electricity board-related activity, he suffered burn injuries to his hands and legs in an accident. Following the incident, changes in his mental health condition were observed.

His family had previously admitted him to two or three nearby hospitals for treatment. However, as he was unwilling to continue treatment and repeatedly left the hospitals, his care could not be sustained. He eventually went missing from his family approximately one year ago. No police complaint regarding his disappearance had been registered.

Through the dedicated efforts of Snehalaya Charitable Trust and the support of Shraddha Foundation, Mumbai, Santhosh Kumar was successfully reunited with his family on September 13, 2026. He was received by his wife, daughters and mother. The reunion was an emotional and deeply moving moment for the family, while villagers and neighbours also expressed their happiness and support.

The successful reunion highlights the importance of timely intervention, compassionate care and coordinated rehabilitation services in helping vulnerable individuals return to their families and communities.
