On April 27, 2024, Mrs. Josliya Crasta, the trustee of Snehalaya, along with the Snehalaya team, rescued a mentally distressed person named Akash (45), who was found wandering aimlessly near Jeppinamogaru in Mangalore. He was admitted to Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for men.
During the time of his admission, he was not sharing any information, so his name was kept as Akash. Due to the medications provided by Snehalaya, his mental health condition started to improve. However, finding his address was a difficult task. Fortunately, during an Aadhaar card camp, his address was found. Quickly, the Snehalaya team contacted his village panchayat and obtained the contact number of his family. They shared the information with his family, who became very happy and promised to come to Snehalaya as soon as possible.
On July 25, 2024, Akash’s elder brother and his relatives arrived at Snehalaya. They were very happy to see him, but Akash failed to recognize them initially. The family members spoke with him, telling him about his past, which made him emotional and helped him recollect his memories. According to the family, Akash, whose real name is Vigan Singh, went missing 7 years ago when he went in search of work. He was previously suffering from mental illness.
Brother Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya, spoke to the family and informed them that Akash’s condition is not yet stable and that he needs continued medication from a local mental hospital. He promised the necessary support for his medication. The family expressed their gratitude towards the management and staff of Snehalaya for their selfless service.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 27.04.2024ರಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಜೆಪ್ಪಿನಮೊಗರು ಬಳಿಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತಿದ್ದ ಆಕಾಶ್ ಎಂಬ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಖಿನ್ನತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸುಮಾರು 45 ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜೋಸ್ಲಿಯಾ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡದವರು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಮುಂದಿನ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಕಳೆದ ಹಲವಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಹೀಗೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ.ದಾಖಲಾತಿಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈತ ಯಾವುದೆ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಆಕಾಶ್ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಇಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯಿಂದ ಆತನ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಚೇತರಿಕೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂತು. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಆಧಾರ್ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪ್ ಇದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಆತನ ವಿಳಾಸವನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ಆತನ ಊರಾದ ಜಾರ್ಖಂಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮುಕುಂದಪುರ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯತಿಯ ಸಹಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆತನ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಿತು. ಕೆಲವೆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ದೂರದ ಜಾರ್ಖಂಡ್‌ ಇಂದ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದರು.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 25.04.2024ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಆಕಾಶ್ ಸಹೋದರ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಆತನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಭಾವುಕರಾದರು. ಕುಟುಂಬಿಕರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಆತನ ನಿಜ ಹೆಸರು ವಿಗಾನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ಆತ ಕಳೆದ ಏಳು ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ನಾಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ, ಕೆಲಸ ಹುಡುಕುವ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೋದ ಆತ ಪುನಃ ಮನೆಗೆ ಮರಳಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆತನ ಸಂಬಂದಿಕರು ಪೋಲಿಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು ಯಾವುದೇ ಫಲ ಸಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆತನ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾರವರು ಆತನ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವು ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗುವ ತನಕ ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ಪತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಲು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಅಗತ್ಯದ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಪರವಾಗಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದೆಂದು ಆಶ್ವಾಸನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಸಹೋದರ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡದವರಿಗೆ ಕುಟುಂಬಿಕರು ತುಂಬು ಹೃದಯದ ಕೃತಜ್ನತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
