ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಜುಲೈ 14, 2026: ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕೊನ್ನಕ್ಕೋಡ್ ಮೂಲದ ಶ್ರೀ ರೆಜಿ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಮಾನಸಿಕವಾಗಿ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ಹಾಗೂ ಆರೈಕೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊನ್ನಕ್ಕೋಡ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಪೊಲೀಸರ ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ನೆರವಿನಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ರೆಜಿ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಸಬ್‌ ಇನ್‌ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಶ್ರೀ ಮುರಳೀಧರ್ ಅವರು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಅವರ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಮನೋವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ತಪಾಸಣೆ, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರಂತರ ಆರೈಕೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಮನಗಂಡು, ಜುಲೈ 13ರಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆತಂದು ಅಗತ್ಯ ದಾಖಲಾತಿ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಾದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ರೆಜಿ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಅವಾಚ್ಯ ಶಬ್ದಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಂದಿಸುವುದು, ತನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಗುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಅತಿಯಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಗತ ಮಾತನಾಡುವಂತಹ ವರ್ತನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಅವರು ತೀವ್ರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ತೊಂದರೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಬಲಪೂರ್ಣ ವಾತಾವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಆರೈಕೆ ನೀಡುವ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತು.

ಪೊಲೀಸರ ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ಹಸ್ತಕ್ಷೇಪದಿಂದ ಅವರ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗುವುದನ್ನು ತಡೆಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ಯಾವುದೇ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆರೈಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯದಂತೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಯಿತು. ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಈ ಘಟನೆ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದೆ.

Mr. Reji Kumar Rescued in Konnakkod and Admitted to Snehalaya for Treatment

Manjeshwar, July 14, 2026: Mr. Reji Kumar, a native of Konnakkod in Kasaragod district, was found in a mentally distressed condition in Konnakkod town. With the timely support of the police, he was rescued and admitted to Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for treatment and care. Police Sub-Inspector Mr. Muralidhar noticed Reji Kumar’s condition and immediately took steps to ensure his safety. Understanding that he needed psychiatric evaluation, treatment and continuous care, the police safely brought him to Snehalaya on July 13 and completed the admission process.

At the time of admission, Reji Kumar was verbally abusive, smiling to himself and talking excessively to himself. These behaviours indicated that he was experiencing serious mental health difficulties and required treatment in a safe and supportive environment.

The timely intervention of the police prevented his condition from becoming more serious. Their compassionate action ensured that he was not left alone without protection or care. This incident once again highlights the important humanitarian role of the police in rescuing and rehabilitating vulnerable people with mental health conditions.

After his admission, Snehalaya’s professional team began a complete assessment of his physical, mental and social condition. Under the guidance of Snehalaya Founder Bro. Joseph Crasta, he is receiving psychiatric treatment, medication, counselling, nutritious food, personal care and psycho-social rehabilitation services.

The rehabilitation team will closely monitor his progress and provide the support needed to improve his mental stability. Special attention will be given to improving his emotional well-being, communication, daily functioning and social adjustment. Once his health improves, further steps will be taken according to his rehabilitation needs.
