ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಜೂನ್ 11, 2026: ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಂಬೈನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಸಹಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕುಟುಂಬದಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಪದ್ಮಜಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಜೂನ್ 11, 2026 ರಂದು ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಆಂಧ್ರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಬಾಪಟ್ಲಾ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಇಂಕೊಲ್ಲು ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಪದ್ಮಜಾ ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೊಂದಲದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ದೇರಳಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಇಬ್ರಾಹಿಂ ಬಾವ ಅವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡದ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದರು. ತಕ್ಷಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಪ್ರವೃತ್ತರಾದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 16, 2026 ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿತು.

ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪದ್ಮಜಾ ಅವರು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅಲೆದಾಟ, ಅಸಂಬದ್ಧ ಮಾತು, ಸ್ವಯಂ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆಯ ಕೊರತೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ಕಳೆದ ಆರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಅವರು ವಿಶಾಖಪಟ್ಟಣಂ ಮತ್ತು ಗುಂಟೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಔಷಧಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರ ತಾಯಿಗೂ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದ್ದು, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತವರಿನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪದ್ಮಜಾ ಅವರು ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ಹೈದರಾಬಾದ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ಏಳು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಅವರ ವಿವಾಹವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಗರ್ಭಧಾರಣೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು ಆರಂಭವಾದವು. ಮಗುವಿನ ಜನನದ ನಂತರ, ಪತಿಯವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ತವರಿನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಅತ್ತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಂತರ ಪತಿಯವರು ವಿಚ್ಛೇದನ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರೂ, ಪದ್ಮಜಾ ಅವರು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಿ ಹಾಕಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಪಡೆದ ನಂತರ, ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಮುಂಬೈ ಸಹಕಾರದಿಂದ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಲಾಯಿತು. ಜೂನ್ 11, 2026 ರಂದು ಪದ್ಮಜಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ತಂದೆ, ಅಣ್ಣ/ತಮ್ಮನ ಮಗ ಮತ್ತು ಅತ್ತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಪದ್ಮಜಾ ಅವರು ಮನೆಗೆ ಮರಳಿದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು, ಬಂಧುಗಳು, ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಮತ್ತು ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರು ಸಂತೋಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಮನೆಗೆ ತಲುಪಿಸಿದ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಮುಂಬೈ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.

Family Reunion Restores Hope: Snehalaya Reunites Padmaja with Her Father and Family After Two Years

Manjeshwar, June 11, 2026: Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre, under the compassionate guidance of Founder Br. Joseph Crasta and with the support of Shraddha Foundation Mumbai, successfully reunited Ms. Padmaja with her father and family members on June 11, 2026, after two years of separation.

Ms. Padmaja, a native of Inkollu village, Bapatla District, Andhra Pradesh, had been missing for the past two years. She was found wandering in a confused and vulnerable condition at Mangalore Central Railway Station. The matter was first brought to the attention of the Snehalaya team by Mr. Ibrahim Bava of Deralakatte. Responding immediately, the team rescued her and admitted her to Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre on April 16, 2026.

At the time of rescue, Padmaja showed signs of mental distress, including wandering behaviour, irrelevant and self-talk, along with poor personal hygiene. She had a past history of mental illness for the past six years and had received treatment in Vizag and Guntur, but was not taking medication regularly. Her mother also has a history of mental illness and lives at her parental home.

Padmaja had completed engineering and worked in Hyderabad for two years. She got married seven years ago, but during pregnancy she began facing mental health issues. After the birth of her child, her husband sent her back to her parental home due to her illness. Their child is being cared for by her mother-in-law. Later, her husband sent divorce papers, which Padmaja did not sign, and he subsequently remarried.

After receiving treatment, care, and rehabilitation at Snehalaya, and with the support of Shraddha Foundation Mumbai, her family was traced. On June 11, 2026, Padmaja was safely reunited with her father, cousin, and aunty. Her family, relatives, villagers, and neighbours expressed great happiness and heartfelt gratitude to Br. Joseph Crasta, Snehalaya, and Shraddha Foundation Mumbai for bringing their loved one safely back home.
