Snehalaya Admits Mentally Distressed Man Brought by Kumbla Police

Manjeshwar, June 1, 2026: A man identified as Mr. Ravi Poojary, a native of Karnataka, was admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre after being found in a mentally distressed condition near Kumbla Bus Stand, Kasaragod.

According to sources, the matter came to light when Mr. Ajay K.V., ASI of Kumbla Police Station, noticed the condition of the individual and informed Snehalaya Founder Bro. Joseph Crasta. Acting promptly on the situation, the Kumbla Police team safely brought Mr. Ravi Poojary to Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for immediate care, protection, and psychosocial rehabilitation support.

Mr. Ravi Poojary was admitted on may 31, 2026. During the preliminary assessment, he was found to be suffering from psychiatric complaints including poor personal hygiene, mild depression, disorientation, and social withdrawal, indicating the need for continuous psychiatric care, supervision, and rehabilitation support.

Under the guidance of Bro. Joseph Crasta, the Snehalaya team has initiated essential treatment, counselling, and rehabilitation measures to support his recovery and well-being. Compassionate care and regular monitoring are being provided at the centre as part of the ongoing intervention process.
