ಏಳು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ, ನೋವು ಮತ್ತು ಅನಿಶ್ಚಿತತೆಗೆ ಕೊನೆ ಹಾಡಿದ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಘಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಪರಭಣಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕಾಜಿ ಬಾಗ್ ಮೂಲದ ಶ್ರೀ ಫಿರೋಜ್ ಖಾನ್ ಅವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹೋದರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ…
ಫಿರೋಜ್ ಖಾನ್ ಸುಮಾರು ಏಳು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಲು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಹಲವಾರು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದರೂ ಅವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ದೊರಕಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾಣೆಯಾದ ಪ್ರಕರಣವೂ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕಾಲಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಕಾಣುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನೇ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ಮೊದಲು ಫಿರೋಜ್ ಖಾನ್ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸೈಕಲ್ ರಿಕ್ಷಾ ವ್ಯವಹಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಪತ್ನಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದ ನಂತರ ಅವರು ಮಾನಸಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕುಗ್ಗತೊಡಗಿದರು. ಕೋವಿಡ್-19 ಲಾಕ್‌ಡೌನ್ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀವ್ರ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದ ನಡುವೆ ಅವರು ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ವಿವಿಧ ಕಡೆ ಅಲೆದಾಡತೊಡಗಿದರು.
2026ರ ಜನವರಿ 21ರಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಕೆಪಿಟಿ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಸಮೀಪ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿತು.
ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆಯ ವೇಳೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಆರೈಕೆಯ ಕೊರತೆ, ತಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದು, ಭ್ರಮಾತ್ಮಕ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಅತಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಸ್ವಭಾವ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೈಕೋ-ಸೋಶಿಯಲ್ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವುದು ತಿಳಿದುಬಂತು.

ಈ ಮಿಲನದ ಕ್ಷಣ ತುಂಬಾ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು, ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರು ಹಾಗೂ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಫಿರೋಜ್ ಖಾನ್ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಮನೆಗೆ ಮರಳಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅಪಾರ ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ನೆಮ್ಮದಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಮೂರು ಸಹೋದರರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೂರು ಸಹೋದರಿಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಫಿರೋಜ್ ಖಾನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಮನೆಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಘಟನೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಸೇವೆಯ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತದೆ — ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಆಶ್ರಯ, ಗೌರವಯುತ ಬದುಕು ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಮಿಲನವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಸೇವೆಯಾಗಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

Seven Years Later, a Family Finds Hope as Snehalaya Reunites Missing Man with His Loved Ones

Manjeshwar, May 9, 2026: In a heart-touching reunion that ended seven years of uncertainty and pain, Mr. Firoz Khan, a native of Kazi Bagh, Parbhani district of Maharashtra, was successfully reunited with his brother and father through the efforts of the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre.

Firoz Khan had been missing for nearly seven years. His family, despite making repeated efforts to trace him, could not find any information about his whereabouts. No missing person complaint had been lodged during this period, and over time, the family had almost lost hope of seeing him again.

Before developing mental health issues, Firoz Khan was involved in his family’s cycle rickshaw business. According to his family, he became mentally disturbed after his wife left him. During the COVID-19 lockdown and amidst severe financial difficulties, he left home and began wandering from place to place.

He was admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre on January 21, 2026, after being found in a distressed condition at KPT Circle, Mangalore. The Snehalaya team safely shifted him to the centre for treatment and rehabilitation.

During the initial assessment, he was observed to have poor personal care, self-talking behaviour, hallucinatory symptoms, and excessive talking, indicating the need for psychiatric care and psychosocial rehabilitation support.

Under the guidance of Snehalaya Founder Br. Joseph Crasta and the dedicated efforts of the Snehalaya team, Firoz Khan gradually showed improvement through regular treatment, counselling, medication, and compassionate care.

With continued follow-up and coordination, Snehalaya successfully traced his family and reunited him with his brother and father on April 27, 2026 . The reunion was deeply emotional, with family members, neighbours, and villagers expressing joy and relief at his safe return after so many years.

Firoz Khan, who has three brothers and three sisters, was welcomed back with love and care by his family.

This reunion once again reflects Snehalaya’s ongoing mission to restore dignity, healing, and hope to mentally distressed individuals while reconnecting them with their loved ones.
