Snehalaya Celebrates International Women’s Day with Inspiring Programme

A meaningful and vibrant programme was organized by Snehalaya Charitable Trust® on the occasion of International Women’s Day – 08 March 2026 at the Snehalaya Auditorium, Manjeshwar, Kasaragod. The event brought together distinguished guests, trustees, women from the neighbourhood, and staff members to celebrate the strength and contributions of women and to promote social awareness.

The programme began at 10:00 a.m. with a warm introduction and welcome by the Masters of Ceremony – Mrs. Lavita D’Souza (Institutional Incharge) and Mr. Clint Joseph (HOD – Clinical Department). This was followed by a graceful prayer dance by Ms. Remona Evette Pereira. The dignitaries were then escorted to the stage, and the programme was formally inaugurated with the symbolic planting of a sapling, highlighting the importance of environmental responsibility.

Mr. Rakesh Lobo, Manager of the De-Addiction Centre, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of International Women’s Day and warmly welcoming the Chief Guests, Guest of Honour, and dignitaries present. He acknowledged the presence of Chief Guests – Mrs. Ajitha K (Station House Officer, Vanitha Police Station, Kasaragod) and Mrs. Irfana Iqbal (Chairperson, Development Standing Committee, Kasaragod District Panchayat), along with Guest of Honour – Professor Hilda Rayappan (Director and Founder, Prajna Counselling Centre). He also welcomed Mrs. Shashikala Suvarna (Project Officer, SKDRDP (Reg), Manjeshwar Taluk), Mrs. Shilpa Raj (Founder, Shilpa Kitchen), Mrs. Olivia Crasta (Secretary and Trustee, Snehalaya), and Ms. Sarita Crasta (Trustee, Snehalaya), appreciating their presence on the occasion.

The gathering was addressed by the Chief Guests – Mrs. Ajitha K., Station House Officer of Vanitha Police Station, Kasaragod, and Mrs. Irfana Iqbal, Chairperson of the Development Standing Committee of Kasaragod District Panchayat. Their messages emphasized women’s empowerment, social responsibility, and collective efforts in building a compassionate society, while also appreciating the service and initiatives of Snehalaya.

A felicitation ceremony was held for Professor Hilda Rayappan, Director and Founder of Prajna Counselling Centre, in recognition of her remarkable contribution to counselling and social service. Addressing the audience, she spoke about the importance of mental health support, appreciated the dedicated service of Bro. Joseph Crasta and Snehalaya, and highlighted the value of empathy in helping individuals overcome life’s challenges.

Another felicitation was presented to Mrs. Shilpa Raj, Founder of Shilpa Kitchen, who shared inspiring thoughts on entrepreneurship and women’s self-reliance, while also speaking about her personal journey and struggles in building her venture. Mrs. Olivia Crasta, Secretary and Trustee of Snehalaya, also addressed the gathering and spoke about the organization’s ongoing efforts in rehabilitation, social outreach, and women’s empowerment in building a stronger and more compassionate society.

The formal event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Jeswin N. D., Counsellor, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Guests, Guest of Honour, dignitaries, participants, organizers, staff, and volunteers for contributing to the success of the programme.

Later, cultural performances and games were conducted. Dance performances by Ms. Remona Evette Pereira and the Horizon Dance Crew added colour and enthusiasm to the celebration. The programme concluded with the distribution of sarees and gifts to beneficiaries by Bro. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya, followed by lunch for all attendees.

The event served as a meaningful platform to honour women achievers, promote social awareness, and strengthen the spirit of service and community support.

ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಹಿಳಾದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ

ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಹಿಳಾ ದಿನದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ 08 ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 2026 ರಂದು ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ಸಾಹಭರಿತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು, ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿಗಳು, ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು, ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿತೈಷಿಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10:00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿ, ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಇನ್‌ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಷನಲ್ ಇನ್‌ಚಾರ್ಜ್ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಲವಿಟಾ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ಲಿನಿಕಲ್ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ಲಿಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಕರಾಗಿ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಪರಿಚಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಸ್ವಾಗತದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ನಂತರ ಮನಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ನೃತ್ಯ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಗಣ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ವೇದಿಕೆಗೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿ, ಪರಿಸರ ಜಾಗೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸಸಿಯನ್ನು ನೆಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ವ್ಯಸನಮುಕ್ತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಕೇಶ್ ಲೋಬೋ ಅವರು ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಹಿಳಾ ದಿನದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು, ಗೌರವ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಗಣ್ಯರನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮೀಯವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾದ ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ವನಿತಾ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಸ್ಟೇಷನ್ ಹೌಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಅಜಿತಾ ಕೆ., ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸ್ಥಾಯಿ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಇರ್ಫಾನಾ ಇಕ್ಬಾಲ್, ಗೌರವ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞಾ ಕೌನ್ಸೆಲಿಂಗ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್‌ನ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ ಪ್ರೊಫೆಸರ್ ಹಿಲ್ಡಾ ರಾಯಪ್ಪನ್, ಎಸ್‌ಕೆಡಿಆರ್‌ಡಿಪಿ (ರಿ.) ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ ತಾಲೂಕು ಯೋಜನಾ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶಶಿಕಲಾ ಸುವರ್ಣ, ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ಕಿಚನ್‌ನ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ರಾಜ್, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಮತ್ತು ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಓಲಿವಿಯಾ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸರಿತಾ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಅಜಿತಾ ಕೆ. ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಇರ್ಫಾನಾ ಇಕ್ಬಾಲ್ ಅವರು ಸಭೆಯನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಹೊಣೆಗಾರಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಾನುಭೂತಿಯ ಸಮಾಜ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಸಹಕಾರದ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಿಹೇಳಿದರು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸೇವಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಪ್ರಶಂಸಿಸಿದರು.

ಪ್ರಜ್ಞಾ ಕೌನ್ಸೆಲಿಂಗ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್‌ನ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ ಪ್ರೊಫೆಸರ್ ಹಿಲ್ಡಾ ರಾಯಪ್ಪನ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀಡಿದ ಮಹತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರೋ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶಂಸಿಸಿ, ಜೀವನದ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಸಹಾನುಭೂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.

ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಸನ್ಮಾನವನ್ನು ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ಕಿಚನ್‌ನ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ರಾಜ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಾವಲಂಬನೆ ಕುರಿತು ಪ್ರೇರಣಾದಾಯಕ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡು, ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನ ಪಯಣ ಮತ್ತು ಎದುರಿಸಿದ ಸವಾಲುಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಮತ್ತು ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಓಲಿವಿಯಾ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರು ಸಹ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸೇವೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಭಾಗವು ಕೌನ್ಸೆಲರ್ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೆಸ್ವಿನ್ ಎನ್. ಡಿ. ಅವರು ವಂದನಾಮಾತುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಪ್ತಿಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಅವರು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು, ಗೌರವ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು, ಗಣ್ಯರು, ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಲು ಶ್ರಮಿಸಿದ ಸಂಘಟಕರು, ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.

ನಂತರ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಆಟೋಪಾಟಗಳು ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೆಮೊನಾ ಎವೆಟ್ ಪೆರೈರಾ ಮತ್ತು ಹೋರೈಜನ್ಸ್ ಡ್ಯಾನ್ಸ್ ಕ್ರೂ ಅವರ ನೃತ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಮತ್ತು ರಂಗು ತುಂಬಿದವು. ನಂತರ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರೋ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರು ಫಲಾನುಭವಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೀರೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಉಡುಗೊರೆಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಿದರು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ಊಟದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಸಮಾಪ್ತಿಯಾಯಿತು.

ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವುದು, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಸೇವಾ ಮನೋಭಾವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದಾಯ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಾಗಿಪರಿಣಮಿಸಿತು.
