ಅವರು ಅಸ್ವಚ್ಛ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಆರೈಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮದ್ಯಾಸಕ್ತಿಯ ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಾ, ಸಮರ್ಪಕ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಷಣದ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನವೀಯ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಈ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಹಿತೈಷಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಂ.ಬಿ. ಬಶೀರ್ ಅವರ ಮೂಲಕ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿತು. ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರು ಸ್ವತಃ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಆಳವಾದ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬದ್ಧತೆಯಿಂದ, ಗಂಗಮ್ಮರನ್ನು ಗೌರವ, ಸಹನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬುವ ಮಾತುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ತಂಡವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ದಿತು.
ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 28, 2026 ರಂದು ಗಂಗಮ್ಮರನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮನೋಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈಗ ಅವರು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಷಕ ವಾತಾವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದು, ಅವರ ದೈಹಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣವನ್ನು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಗಮನಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದ ಕ್ಷಣವು ಈಗ ಚೇತರಿಕೆಯ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಹೊಸ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ದಾರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.

From the Streets to Safety: Snehalaya Rescues Gangamma in a Timely Act of Compassion
Manjeshwar, March 01, 2026: In a touching act of timely intervention, Gangamma, a native of Yalburgi Taluku, Koppala District, Karnataka, was rescued from Atthavara Street, Mangalore , where she was found in a vulnerable and neglected condition.
She was seen struggling with poor personal hygiene and the effects of alcohol dependency, wandering without proper care or protection clearly in urgent need of medical attention and compassionate support.
The situation was brought to notice by Mr. Mb Basheer, a well-wisher of Snehalaya . Upon receiving the information, Br. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya, personally went to the location for the rescue. With deep concern and commitment, he ensured that Gangamma was approached with dignity, patience, and reassurance. The Snehalaya team carefully brought her to safety under his guidance.
On February 28, 2026 , she was admitted under Snehalaya’s care for medical observation, personal care, and psychosocial rehabilitation. She is now in a secure and nurturing environment where her physical and emotional well-being are being attentively supported.
What was once a moment of distress on the streets has now become the beginning of healing and renewed hope.
Snehalaya continues its compassionate mission—affirming that no one is forgotten and every life deserves care, respect, and a second chance.
