ನಗರದ ಗದ್ದಲದ ಮಧ್ಯೆ, ಜನರ ಓಡಾಟದ ನಡುವೆ, ರೈಲುಗಳ ಶಬ್ದದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವನದ ಅನೇಕ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಮೌನವಾಗಿ ಮರೆಯಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಅಂತಹದೇ ಒಂದು ಮನಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಘಟನೆ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ.

ಚನ್ನು ಎಂಬ ಮಹಿಳೆ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದರು. ಅವಳು ದಿಕ್ಕುತೋಚದಂತೆ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಮಾತುಗಳು ಸಂಬಂಧವಿಲ್ಲದಂತೆ ಹೊರಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಸ್ವತಃ ನಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆಯ ಕೊರತೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅವಳ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗೊಂದಲ… ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕಾಂತ… ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರಾಶೆಯ ಛಾಯೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅವಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಷಣದ ಆರೈಕೆ, ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸಹಾಯ ಅತ್ಯಾವಶ್ಯಕವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 23, 2026 ರಂದು ಚನ್ನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ ಅಗತ್ಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮನೋಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸಹಾಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈಗ ಅವಳು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಆರೈಕೆಯ ವಾತಾವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದು, ಅವಳ ದೈಹಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಕಡೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಗೊಂದಲದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗ ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಬೆಳಕು ಮೂಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.

In a Compassionate Act of Timely Intervention, Snehalaya Rescues a Distressed Woman from Mangalore Central Railway Station

Manjeshwar, February 26, 2026: In a heartfelt act of empathy and swift humanitarian response, Channu was rescued from the Central Railway Station, Mangalore, where she was found in a vulnerable and distressed condition. She appeared disoriented, exhibiting wandering behaviour, irrelevant speech, self-smiling, and signs of poor personal hygiene—clearly in urgent need of care, protection, and medical attention.

The situation was brought to attention by Mr. Manoj Kumar, a vigilant railway officer , whose concern for her safety led him to promptly inform Bro. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya . Responding immediately, Bro. Joseph Crasta directed the Snehalaya team to proceed without delay to the railway station and carry out the rescue operation.

Approaching Channu with patience, compassion, and reassurance, the Snehalaya team ensured that she felt safe and respected. Rather than treating her as just another case, they responded to her as a fellow human being in distress—offering dignity where there was vulnerability and care where there was neglect.

On February 23, 2026 Channu was admitted under Snehalaya’s care for necessary medical attention, observation, and psychosocial rehabilitation support. She is now in a secure and nurturing environment where her physical and mental well-being are being carefully attended to, and where hope can gradually replace confusion and isolation.

This rescue once again reflects Snehalaya’s unwavering commitment to reaching out to the abandoned, protecting the vulnerable, and restoring dignity to those left behind. The timely intervention of Mr. Manoj Kumar and the immediate coordinated response under the leadership of Bro.
