Man Found Wandering Near Manjeshwar Auto Stand Admitted for Care

Manjeshwar, February 15, 2026: A middle-aged man named Sathish Konerikeri, a native of Konerikeri, Honnavara Taluku, Karwar, Karnataka, was noticed wandering near the auto stand at Manjeshwar . He appeared confused and unaware of his surroundings and was in a vulnerable condition requiring immediate support.

He was showing poor insight into his condition, wandering behavior, poor personal hygiene, and symptoms suggestive of Mild Intellectual Disability (Mild MR). Due to these challenges, he was unable to take care of himself or ensure his own safety.

It was Mr. Badhrudeen, an auto driver , who observed that he was not simply loitering but was in need of assistance. Acting responsibly, he informed Br. Joseph Crasta, following which immediate steps were taken to arrange support.

Upon receiving the information, the Snehalaya team, under the leadership of Br. Joseph Crasta, reached the location near the Manjeshwar auto stand. The team ensured his safety and brought him under protective care.

On February 13, 2026, he was formally admitted to Snehalaya for medical evaluation, psychiatric assessment, hygiene care, and structured rehabilitation support.

He is currently receiving supervised care in a safe and structured environment. The focus of intervention is stabilization, ongoing monitoring, and rehabilitation planning.
