ಐದು ತಿಂಗಳ ಮೌನದ ನಂತರ ಮನೆ ತಲುಪಿದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳು…

ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಒಂದು ಜೀವ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗುವುದು ಅಂದರೆ ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಅಳಿವು ಅಲ್ಲ ಅದು ಒಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬದ ನಿದ್ರೆ ಕಳೆದುಹೋಗುವಿಕೆ, ತಾಯಿಯ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆರೆಸುವ ಕಣ್ಣೀರು, ತಂದೆಯ ಮೌನದ ನೋವು. ಅದೇ ನೋವಿನೊಳಗೆ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ಮುರ್ಷಿದಾಬಾದ್ನ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಕಿ ಮುದ್ದಿನ್ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬ.
ಐದು ತಿಂಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ, ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಭಾರ, ಖಿನ್ನತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗೊಂದಲದ ನಡುವೆ ಅವರು ಮನೆಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದರು. ದಿನಗಳು ಕಳೆದವು… ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳು ಉರುಳಿದವು… ಆದರೆ ಮಗನ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಇಲ್ಲ. “ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ನೋಡಲಿಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ಸಿಗಬಹುದೇ?” ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯೇ ಅವರ ದಿನಚರಿಯಾಯಿತು.
ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಉಡುಪಿ ಉದ್ಯಾವರದ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಬದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಮೌನವಾದ ಬದುಕು ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತು. ದಿಕ್ಕು ತಪ್ಪಿದ ನಡೆ, ಗೊಂದಲದ ಮಾತು, ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ವರ್ತನೆ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ. 14-10-2025 ರಂದು ಉಪನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕ ಸಫ್ವಾನ್ ಅವರ ಸ್ಪಂದನೆಯಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸೈಕೋ–ಸೋಶಿಯಲ್ ರಿಹ್ಯಾಬಿಲಿಟೇಶನ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ಗೆ ಕರೆತರಲಾಯಿತು.
ದಾಖಲಾತಿಯ ವೇಳೆ, ಶ್ರೀ ಸಕಿ ಮುದ್ದಿನ್ ADS, TDS, ಅಧಿಕಾರದ ಭ್ರಮೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಗಾಢ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ಥಿರತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅದು “ಒಬ್ಬ ರೋಗಿ” ಅಲ್ಲ “ಒಬ್ಬ ಮರಳಿ ಮನೆ ತಲುಪಬೇಕಾದ ಮಗ”.
ದಿನಗಳು ಕಳೆಯುತ್ತಾ, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಕಾಳಜಿ, ಮಾತುಕತೆ, ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ… ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಅವರೊಳಗಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಹೊರಬಂದ. ತುಂಡು–ತುಂಡು ನೆನಪುಗಳು ಜೋಡನೆಯಾದವು. ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳು, ಮಾತಿನ ನಡುವೆ ಜಾರಿದ ಊರಿನ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು — ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಸುಳಿವುಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಟ್ಟವು.
ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಹ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯೊಂದು ಸಿಕ್ಕ ಕ್ಷಣ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡ ಕ್ಷಣವೂ ತಡಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆ ಕ್ಷಣದಿಂದಲೇ ಒಂದು ಗುರಿ “ಈ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಮಡಿಲಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಿಸಬೇಕು.”
ಮತ್ತೆ ಬಂದಿತು ಆ ಕ್ಷಣ… ತಾಯಿ–ತಂದೆ ಎದುರು ಮಗ. ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತಾಡದ ಕಣ್ಣೀರು. ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿತ. “ನೀನು ಬದುಕಿದ್ದೀಯಾ?” ಎಂಬ ನಂಬಲಾರದ ಸಂತೋಷ.
ಶ್ರೀ ಸಕಿ ಮುದ್ದಿನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಡವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ಮುರ್ಷಿದಾಬಾದ್ನ ಸ್ವಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ದಿತು. ಮನೆ, ಊರು, ಸಮುದಾಯ… ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಮತ್ತೆ ಅವರ ಬದುಕಿನ ಭಾಗವಾಗಲು.
ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಒಂದು ಘಟನೆ ಅಲ್ಲ.
ಇದು ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯ ಗೆಲುವು.
ಒಂದು ಕರೆ, ಒಂದು ಸ್ಪಂದನೆ, ಒಂದು ತಂಡ ಒಂದು ಬದುಕಿನ ಹೊಸ ಆರಂಭ.

Missing Person Safely Traced and Reunited with Family Through Snehalaya’s Intervention
Manjeshwar, February 08, 2026: In a significant humanitarian intervention, Mr. Saki Muddin, who had been missing for the past five months, was successfully reunited with his family through the timely and dedicated efforts of the Snehalaya team.
Mr. Saki Muddin was admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre on 14-10-2025 after being found along the roadside at Udyavar, Udupi. He was brought to the centre by Sub-Inspector Safwan. At the time of admission, he was suffering from ADS (Altered Mental Status), TDS (Thought Disorder Syndrome), wandering behaviour, delusions of authority, and confusion, necessitating immediate professional care and rehabilitation.
It was reported that Mr. Saki Muddin had been experiencing mental depression. During periods of emotional distress or family disagreements, he would discontinue his medication and leave his home. While away, he was engaged in masonry and construction supervisory work in the locality where he was eventually located.
Acting on reliable information, the Snehalaya team promptly initiated action, safely traced Mr. Saki Muddin, and facilitated his return to his family. Upon his arrival, his parents expressed immense relief, joy, and gratitude, reaffirming their love and concern for their son.
Subsequently, Mr. Saki Muddin was formally reunited with his mother and father. Under the guidance of Snehalaya Founder, Br. Joseph Crasta, the team ensured his safe return to his native place in Murshidabad, West Bengal, enabling him to reintegrate with his family and community.
This successful reunion stands as a testament to Snehalaya’s unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals and restoring family bonds through compassionate service.
