Manjeshwar, December 28, 2025: Sheela, a native of Ambava Paschim village, Manjhanpur, Kaushambi District, Uttar Pradesh, who had been missing for the past eight months, was successfully reunited with her son and daughter through the compassionate and sustained efforts of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, in collaboration with Shraddha Foundation, Mumbai. The reunion was deeply emotional and brought immense relief and happiness to the family.

Sheela has a documented history of mental illness for the past five years and had undergone treatment earlier. Eight months ago, she travelled to Delhi to visit a Dargah, after which she went missing. A missing person complaint was subsequently lodged by her family. Despite her son’s continuous efforts to search for her in Delhi, he was unable to trace her whereabouts, leaving the family distressed and anxious.

On July 30, 2025, Sheela was found in a vulnerable and distressed condition at Mangalore Central Railway Station and was rescued by the Snehalaya team. At the time of rescue, she was approximately 40 years old, exhibiting poor personal hygiene and communicating primarily in Hindi. She was immediately admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Home for Women, Manjeshwar, where she received timely medical care, psychiatric assessment, counselling, and ongoing psychosocial support.

Through consistent follow-up and dedicated efforts to trace her identity and family background, the Snehalaya team successfully established contact with her family in Uttar Pradesh. On November 24, 2025, Sheela was reunited with her son and daughter. The reunion was highly emotional, with both children overwhelmed on seeing their mother after months of uncertainty. The family expressed deep gratitude, and the overall response was extremely positive and heartfelt.

This successful rescue and reunion once again highlights the unwavering humanitarian mission of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, founded by Br. Joseph Crasta, which for over 16 years has been committed to rescuing, treating, rehabilitating, and reuniting destitute persons with mental illness—restoring dignity, hope, and lost family bonds, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 25, 2025: ಉತ್ತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕೌಶಾಂಬಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮಂಜ್ಹನಪುರ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಅಂಬಾವಾ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಶೀಲಾ ಅವರು ಕಳೆದ ಎಂಟು ತಿಂಗಳಿನಿಂದ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಂಬೈನ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಅವರ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದ ಮೂಲಕ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಗ ಮತ್ತು ಮಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಿಗೆ ಅಪಾರ ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದೆ.

ಶೀಲಾ ಅವರು ಕಳೆದ ಐದು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಇದ್ದರು. ಎಂಟು ತಿಂಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಅವರು ದೆಹಲಿಗೆ ದುರ್ಗಾ ದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತೆರಳಿದ್ದ ಬಳಿಕ ನಾಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಚಿಂತಿತಗೊಂಡ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣೆಯಾದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಪುತ್ರ ದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೀವ್ರ ಶೋಧ ನಡೆಸಿದರೂ ತಾಯಿಯ ಸುಳಿವು ದೊರಕಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಜುಲೈ 30, 2025 ರಂದು ಶೀಲಾ ಅವರು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು. ಸುಮಾರು 40 ವರ್ಷದ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಶೀಲಾ ಅವರು ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀವ್ರ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದಿ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ, ಅಗತ್ಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ, ಸಲಹಾ ಸೇವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರಂತರ ಆರೈಕೆ ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ನಿರಂತರ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ, ಅನುಸರಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗುರುತು ಪತ್ತೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ಶೀಲಾ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಯಿತು. ಇದರ ಫಲವಾಗಿ 2025ರ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 24ರಂದು ಶೀಲಾ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಗ ಮತ್ತು ಮಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡರು. ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಭಾವುಕರಾಗಿ ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿಟ್ಟರು. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಈ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವು, ಕಳೆದ 16 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಜಾತಿ, ಧರ್ಮ, ಭೇದವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಸಹಾಯಕರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಿ, ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಕ್ಕೆ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ನ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.
