Manjeshwar, November 07, 2025: In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and humanitarian service, Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Kasargod, Kerala, successfully reunited Mr. Venkateshwara, a 36-year-old native of Andhra Pradesh, with his family on November 4, 2025, following several months of intensive care, treatment, and rehabilitation.
On July 12, 2025, Mr. Venkateshwara was found wandering aimlessly and in a mentally unstable condition near Father Muller Hospital, Kankanady, Mangalore. He was first noticed by Mr. Maclin Lobo, a staff member of Snehalaya, who promptly alerted the Snehalaya Rescue Team. Acting swiftly, the team reached the location and ensured his safe rescue.
At the time of rescue, Mr. Venkateshwara appeared disoriented, emotionally disturbed, and physically unkempt, indicating prolonged mental illness and neglect. During preliminary interactions, he was able to recall limited information, identifying himself as a Telugu-speaking individual from Andhra Pradesh, and mentioning his parents’ names as Krishnayya and Shankaramma.
Following his admission to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre, Manjeshwar, he was provided with comprehensive psychiatric treatment, counseling, and rehabilitative care. The multidisciplinary team at Snehalaya—comprising psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers—worked closely to help him regain stability and confidence. Over time, his mental health improved significantly, enabling him to recall more details about his past and family.
Through sustained rehabilitation efforts and extensive tracing initiatives, the Snehalaya team successfully located his family members. Their reunion on November 4, 2025, was an emotional moment filled with gratitude and relief. The family expressed heartfelt thanks to Snehalaya for rescuing and restoring their loved one’s life with dignity and compassion.
This successful reunion once again highlights Snehalaya’s enduring dedication to the care, treatment, and reintegration of individuals affected by mental illness and homelessness. ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ನವೆಂಬರ್ 07, 2025: ಆಂಧ್ರಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮೂಲದ 36 ವರ್ಷದ ಯುವಕ ಶ್ರೀ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ವರ ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನಡೆದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಬಳಿಕ ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೆಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ನ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಒಡನಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನವೆಂಬರ್ 4ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವು ಭಾವುಕ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಿತು.
ಜುಲೈ 12ರಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಕಂಕನಾಡಿಯ ಫಾದರ್ ಮುಲ್ಲರ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಸಮೀಪ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ಥಿರ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ವರರನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ಲಿನ್ ಲೋಬೋ ಗುರುತಿಸಿದರು. ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ತಂಡ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪಡೆದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸೈಕೋ-ಸೋಶಿಯಲ್ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ, ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿತು. ಆ ವೇಳೆ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ವರನವರು ಮಾನಸಿಕವಾಗಿ ಅಸ್ಥಿರರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಶರೀರದ ದಶೆಯೂ ದುರ್ಬಲವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ವಿಚಾರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಂಧ್ರಪ್ರದೇಶದ ತೆಲುಗು ಭಾಷಿಕರೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿ, ತಾಯಿ-ತಂದೆಯ ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೃಷ್ಣಯ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಂಕರಮ್ಮ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರು. ಮನೋವೈದ್ಯರ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ನುರಿತ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ವರ್ಗದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ, ಔಷಧೋಪಚಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಬಲದಿಂದ ಅವರು ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಚೇತರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂದ ನಂತರ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ತಂಡ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ ರವರ ಮೂಲ ನಿವಾಸ ಪತ್ತೆಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಯಿತು. ಹಲವು ವಾರಗಳ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದ ನಂತರ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ದೊರಕಿತು. ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಸಂತೋಷಾಭಿನಂದನೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿ, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
