Manjeshwar, October 21, 2025: In a remarkable act of compassion and collaboration, Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Manjeshwar, in association with Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation, Mumbai, successfully facilitated the transfer and continued rehabilitation of Mr. Prakash Godvani, a 29-year-old man from Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Mr. Prakash was rescued by the dedicated Snehalaya team on September 9, 2025, near Nehru Maidan, Mangalore, after being found in a distressed and disoriented state. He had been wandering aimlessly, displaying symptoms of mental instability such as repetitive speech, aggressive behavior, tobacco addiction, and poor personal hygiene, which made him vulnerable on the streets.

Following his rescue, the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre team conducted a thorough assessment of his condition and initiated medical, psychological, and behavioral interventions to address his challenges. Under the compassionate care of the staff, Prakash showed gradual improvement in his overall health and mental well-being.

Recognizing the need for long-term care and structured rehabilitation, Snehalaya coordinated with Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation, a leading institution for mentally ill destitutes in India, to ensure his continued support. On October 15, 2025, Prakash was officially transferred from Snehalaya to the Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation’s centre at Vengaon Village, Karjat, Raigad, Maharashtra, and subsequently referred to Shree Loksewa Sadhbhavna Vruddhashram, Surat, Gujarat, for further rehabilitation.

This collaborative effort exemplifies the shared mission of both organizations — to rescue, rehabilitate, and restore dignity to individuals suffering from mental illness and homelessness.

2025ರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 9ರಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ನೆಹರು ಮೈದಾನದ ಬಳಿ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ಥಿರತೆಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಮರ್ಪಿತ ತಂಡವು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು. ಅವರು ಉದ್ದೇಶವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಒಂದೇ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಪದೇ ಪದೇ ಹೇಳುವುದು, ಆಕ್ರೋಶಪೂರ್ಣ ವರ್ತನೆ, ತಂಬಾಕು ವ್ಯಸನ ಹಾಗೂ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಅಶುಚಿತ್ವ ಮುಂತಾದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ಇದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
